Jesus did come back in 1844, His name is Baha'u'llah(Manifestation of God), founder of the Baha'i faith.
The early nineteenth century was a period of messianic expectations in many lands. Deeply disturbed by the implications of scientific inquiry and industrialization, earnest believers from many religious backgrounds turned to the scriptures of their faiths for an understanding of the accelerating processes of change. In Europe and America groups like the Templers and the Millerites believed they had found in the Christian scriptures evidence supporting their conviction that history had ended and the return of Jesus Christ was at hand. A markedly similar ferment developed in the Middle East around the belief that the fulfillment of various prophecies in the Qur'an and Islamic Traditions was imminent.

According to the Bible, Jesus has already come. Jesus the Christ came into this world being born of man through a virgin. He grew up to be about 33. He laid down his life for you. Then he rose from the dead victorious over sin, death, and the power of the devil. So now you can have eternal life if you believe in Him. And one day Christ will come again, this time to judge the world. All things and people that are evil will be put in the lake of fire for ever in torment. All that believe will be with Christ in paradise forever. On that day, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. Even you, whether you are saved or not.

He will, not to worry.
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Obviously, it's not time for Him to come back. 2 Peter 3:9 says that God is patient, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. It is set in the context of other scoffers asking the same question you've asked.
So, Jesus hasn't yet returned because of the patience of God, wanting you to repent, giving you time to repent and trust in Jesus as your Savior.

He hasn't come back yet but he will. Be thankful that he hasn't. Because once he does, it will be too late to ask for forgiveness if you haven't by then. Be thankful that he is a patient God, and that he is waiting for you to accept his Son Jesus Christ so you can go to heaven.

He is waiting for His church to get off their backsides and spread the gospel to the world, to every nation, kindred and tongue. This will occur simultaneously with the purification of the church so that He can present the church without spot or wrinkle to the universe, manifesting His infinite wisdom. Unfortunately, most Christians are too busy waiting for the rapture of the church to care about their fellow human beings. The rest are too caught up in the affairs of the world, feeling satisfied that it will all happen in God's time, and they have nothing to worry about because they are saved and secure. Sadly, we have no plan to reach the world with the good news of salvation. Failure to plan is planning to fail.

Jesus won't be back. He doesn't need to come back. He did what he came here to do and the rest is up to us. He set the example for us to rise to. We obviously aren't doing a very good job in following the teacher's example, now are we?

Because he died. He isn't coming back and why the hell would he want to? So people can poke and prod him, then beat him down like a dog and nail his skinny butt to a cross to bleed out for 3 days in agonizing pain? He used to love humanity, but I think this little beating he took might have taught his as* better. Even if he did come back, I think he'd keep his damn mouth shut this time around...ya dig?

God wants as many people as possible to have as much time as posible to recieve salvation.
Jesus is not supose to return until everyone has had a chance to hear of the Good News. Unfortunately, many who try to share it end up sharing a message that makes people run away from God not toward God.
If when we evangalize we learn to share God unconditional love and leave the life improvements piece to God we can bring about the second comming alot sooner.
