Many people do not truly understand the power of a soul. Why are people not mindful of their very own value? Today we see people willing to sell out for fame, money, power and greed. The old saying goes " you can't take it with you" isn't true. What you plant in this life will follow you through eternity. I am trying to understand why anyone would give up the gift of their soul for such a low price? Causing them to move on to eternal damnation. The soul has great power, we have been given the opportunity to change the world in wonderful ways, so where is the profit in this transaction for the soul? It is a poor business decision to sell something for far less a price than its actual value. No profit in selling your soul so give it back to the Creator and be amazed at what He can do with you!!!

My friend is working at a christian daycare that has just adopted the montessori method as the basis for their school model.

She has a suspicion that the montessori method seems like it is based on humanistic theories.

My friend wants to know if montessori is humanistic, and if that is in conflict with the values or methods a christian day care should be promoting.

so should a christian daycare use the montessori method?

Is humanism in conflict with christian teaching?

I'm not sure where to put this, education or religion, but its safe to say humanism is rather main stream in education so I am putting it under religion.
THe question is not if a humanist would have a problem with montessori, but wheather a christian SHOULD have a problem with it.

I was driving home after the gym and for some odd reason I had a question pop into my mind.. It was something about - what really happens when someone dies? Where will I go? I'm in a point in my life where I'm questioning my faith - I believe in a higher power but I'm still unsure. It's been hard for me because I wasn't raised in a religious household. I'm just starting to read bits and pieces of the Bible but I don't believe that that will give me all the answers. I'm just curious as to why these questions really popped up in my head - I had thoughts about the afterlife and if I'm really going to be in a "heaven" with God, or if I'm just going to close my eyes and fall asleep - never waking up again. I dunno - I'm just scared because I know there's something to believe in because so many others claim they KNOW/FEEL God - and I feel left out because I don't know any part of that. If any of you have any advice, please give me some.

Why do people think that I should "grow up" and tell mom about my Hindu beliefs? How mature is that really? To rip your dear mother's heart out just so you can be "free" to practice your religion and be yourself?
Isn't that just selfish?

Do evolution scientists try to make life out of non living material? Who told you that?
Do evolution scientists try to prove that God doesn't exist? Who told you that?
What, in short, do you think that the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection is trying to establish?
Is it an atheist agenda? Do you think that if you learned about evolution and believed it that you might not believe in God anymore?
Is it really all on nothing?
If your answer to any of these is that 'everyone knows that' .. don't be scared to just shout it on out. It's my question, I'm just interested in your answer that's all.

1 Corinthians 14
14:34
women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says.
14:35
If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

-------------------

Back when I had bought into your cult and went to church, I heard many women talking. I sure hope all those hethen women burn in hell for their horrible sin.

This is what makes me think christianity is a crock of $hit. Before there were cameras, every single wild story you can imagine has been told and believed. Now that there is ways to prove things NO ONE has EVER done so. NEVER IN HISTORY has something supernatural happened where there is solid proof available. God is too much like a ghost. Only comes out when its creepy, dark and no one is around. You didnt actually see it but you heard a noise.

then why has my life never been going so well? It's been far better than back when I was an x-ian. I don't see why I would ever even consider going to anything else, especially x-ianity or any of the other popular religions these days.

Well, FSMism seems pretty cool, but that's it.

Leviticus 12
12:2
"Speak to the sons of Israel, saying: 'When a woman gives 128 birth and bears a male {child,} then she shall be unclean for seven days, as 292 in the days of her 129 menstruation she shall be unclean.
12:3
'On the 293 eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.
12:4
'Then she shall remain in the blood of {her} purification for thirty-three days; she shall not touch any consecrated thing, nor enter the sanctuary until the days of her purification are completed.
12:5
'But if she bears a female {child,} then she shall be unclean for two weeks, as in her menstruation; 130 and she shall remain in the blood of {her} purification for sixty-six days.

------------------

P.S. Could you cite any scientific evidence proving this? Sounds like a bullet proof comment to me. (rolls eyes)

You dont get saved by good works or bad...and when your "in adam" you can only take Jesus as your substitute. When you are saved and "in christ",there is nothing good or bad that can change that either. We cannot live a christian life, Jesus did it for us. We are helpless, Jesus is everything. Righteousness is a gift, its not something we can do. Only Jesus can do that through us and for us. We dont have the power to become unsaved by what we do. The christian life isn't avoiding bad behavoir, but abiding in the love and stregnth of christ. We are justified by faith and also sanctified by faith...and apart from christ we can do nothing. For those ofyou who think your eternal destiny is in your hands after you get saved and think what you do can change that, I feel for you....always wondering...never sure....living under the law of sin and death...when your totally free to live in freedom. Sin is so much more than what you think...anything we do apart from christ is sin...
