I've read a book a Doctor wrote on near death experiences. There are some stories where the person left the body and then saw things out of the room that they could not have seen, unless they had left the body, like they said.
I hope what happens is that souls can recognize other souls, and interact in some manner, with a civilization of souls, in a paradise of sorts.
