1 Corinthians 14
14:34
women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says.
14:35
If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

Back when I had bought into your cult and went to church, I heard many women talking. I sure hope all those hethen women burn in hell for their horrible sin.

I suppose you're right. Women are the only stupid creatures that can get confused in church and ask questions. Wording it that way instead of "keep silence and ask questions later" is the perfect way to do it. You have convinced me this passage is no sexist at all.

Oh, so it is don't be rowdy? I think this Christian commentary on the bible that clearly says that the law forbids women from speaking in churches would know a little bit more than you.

Ok...do you know any history? It's because of language differences and other deeper teachings...women were getting confused and were asking their hubby's to answer them....basicly just disrupting the service.....I really wish people would look into things before they make a huge deal like you did....so many things are taken out of context it's pathetic

EDIT: women weren't as educated as their hubby's that is sexest but not in the way that women are stupid...that was their culture...jeez can you take this anymore out of context?

EDIT: you know what? no answer will make you happy...you are an extreme person...As it was said in another answer you have your own aganda...that's really sad...I dislike the Fundies in Christianity as much as I dislike people that pick and pry just to get a response. It's a two year old "look at me" Mentality. As I said,Both ends of the spectrum make me want to gag.

It also says that a woman's head should be covered in church. I've asked questions many times about these issues and have never gotten an answer that made sense. I've been told several different things. Such as, that was for those times. How I look at it is that the Bible is for all times. Back then women only worked in the home and bore children. Today, we support ourselves and our families. My husband passed away. Back then my husband's brother would have been in charge of me. That is no longer the case. I support myself and I take care of my aging father. So, I'm sure we can interpret the "husband's role" back then as the "head of household" today.

Forbidding women to speak in church was a custom of the Old Testament times. The law was also used to constrain those with undisciplined loose lips during sacred services.

The custom is no longer with us in Christianity because it never was doctrine. Women in many churches today teach and speak in church and they do wonderous jobs at it. They may not hold the priesthood, but their contributions are equal in comparison.

this implies women folk are to no longer carry forth interior the church. in case you had the Holy Spirit to steer you, you may honestly comprehend the word of God. a million Corinthians 2:14 the guy without the Spirit does no longer settle for the failings that come from the Spirit of God, for they're foolishness to him, and he can't comprehend them, via fact they're spiritually discerned.

In my church, the Apostolic Christian Church, the women and men sit seperately during the services and lunch time, and only the men are allowed to speak out loud (during the service) if the minister asks something, like asking them to lead in prayer. Other than that, us women can speak amongst ourselves. The women also wear veils, or headcoverings, as instructed by the Word.

I take as not arguing over something in church . You know go home and discuss it with your husband. Read the Bible and pray about it God will reveal it to you! God Bless!

I think women have a place and the husband should be head of house.....when i say it is OK.

Seriously though Christian marriages are respectful that way.

Reader responsibility...you got to know the audience to whom Paul was speaking and catch the verse in context.

But, it's obvious that you aren't interested in the Word of God, but you just want to use isolated verses to forward your agenda. Your question, as such, isn't a question, and won't receive an answer from me.

Hard to interpret these statements what with them completely removed from context.
