Ecclesiastes 9:5 says that "the dead are conscious of nothing at all." They cannot harm or help us. Jesus and other Bible writers described death as a sleep-like state. They are completely unaware of their surroundings.

Well if they still exist, then I personally feel a continued existence would still be very much here, if another level/dimension, not some far off land in the clouds, and then maybe they can see or hear us still or when they want to.
