Ecclesiastes 9:5 says that "the dead are conscious of nothing at all." They cannot harm or help us. Jesus and other Bible writers described death as a sleep-like state. They are completely unaware of their surroundings.

Well if they still exist, then I personally feel a continued existence would still be very much here, if another level/dimension, not some far off land in the clouds, and then maybe they can see or hear us still or when they want to.

Absolutely. They don't see with physical eyes, they are in God's presence and have privy to know and see. All truths are revealed.
