so i am a practicing christian, southern baptist living in salt lake city utah. i know a lot about the mormon religion and i knwo what they belive, what their books say and what their "prophets" teqach. so here is what im wondering... do u think it is a cult? or did some guy really "see" god and read gold plates out of a dark hat... twice... and it be different both times but still have followers? is it of god to not allow everyone into their church? is it of god to belive the exact opposite of what the bible says? and do you think mormons are christians? and if so, will they get to heaven just be being "good" people or do u think they still need to accept christ into their heart?

Paradoxically, a person who exhibits such tremendous ego and self-confidence in reality has such low self-esteem and such a fragile ego that he cannot abide any expression other than his own, for fear of annihilation of the self. Therefore everything that is not under his control is perceived as a threat.

I am just confused by the words from the Mathew. According to prophet, name should be Emmanuel so why His name is Jesus ?

Mathew, 21:
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name [JESUS]: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Mathew, 23:
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name [Emmanuel],
which being interpreted is, God with us.

Right now my life is in flux, I cant make a decision because everything keeps changing. I have been trying to buy a house, but in florida an average house goes for 200 thousand dollars, which is entirely to me too much. My husband and I decided to move to south carolina into a house twice the size buying it at less money. now I have been offered two positions as a massage therapist making very good money, now I dont know if we should move? Recently alot of odd things have happened. Just last night I was dreaming about leaving, but kept thinking why? And then a mans face kept popping up in my dream, almost like he was trying to invade upon my dreams. I have also been contacted by letter from people who tell me I have a gift, which Im already aware of,but I have no idea how they obtained my street address. My friend who said in college when he opened his chakras the very same thing happened to him. Can anyone elaborate who really knows what Im talking about? I am aware of certian groups

A Baptist minister & a Catholic priest were pounding this huge sign in the ground near my home that said "END is NEAR...turn while you still have TIME!!! Just then a car just flew by and the people inside yelled out to them "LEAVE us alone you religious nuts"

Then they heard a horrible CRASH!!!!!!!!

Then the Priest said to the Baptist Minister:

Should we have just said: Bridge is Out?

In the bible God and Satan battle, there is a great war in heaven and Satan is cast out...so it seems that war has originated from God, we "being" in his image...is this why there is so many wars.If this is how God settles his debates are we not just following are Fathers example? The amount that is suffered doesnt matter...we have a point to prove.

I was just wondering which religion has the most followers. Its not for any type of assignment, but for personal knowledge. Serious answers please, and I'm not asking for a religion bashing session, so please be kind to people who actually believe in something.

I was wondering if anyone else ever heard of this?

Not too long ago, a woman in my church pulled me aside and said I was kneeling wrong. When I go down, I kneel with my left knee on the floor and my right knee up to push myself up. She said that it should be my right knee on the ground and my left knee up. According to her, the way I was doing it was a proclamation to Satan.

I asked my mom, and she thinks it's some mideval thinking from like the 60's when people thought that left-handed people were evil. Things like, the Angel is on the right shoulder, the Devil on the left.

I was wondering if anyone else ever heard of this. I think that lady is full of it. I kneel that way because it's easier on my soon-to-be arthritic knees.

Isn't it the saddest of ironies that so many people who will throw red paint on someone's fur coat to protest the "innocent killing" of ANIMALS will also march on behalf of a woman's right to kill her own CHILD?

When and why did our societly start placing more value on the lives of animals over the lives of humans?

This is an honest question. Please do not get rude, immature, or just put biblical verses on here. I several bibles and I can read them myself. If you cannot contain yourself--just don't answer the question.

Since God gave us free will, who are we as Christians to tell another person (regardless of their religion) what they can and can not do? Basically why should we be able to take that God given right away from a person? Don't you think on the day they are judged they will still be judged the same regardless if we make things legal or illegal?

This is pertaining to legalizing gay marriage, abortion, and many other things I've noticed we force others NOT to do.
