I am not asking about myself, just wondering about how people are fulfilled.

Great question. I hope you don't mind if I answer with a lyric from a song by Casting Crowns.

"Who Am I?"

Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the bright an morning star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart

Not because of who I am
But because of what you've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who you are

I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still you hear me when I'm calling
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling
And you've told me who I am
I am yours,
I am yours

Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me

Not because of who I am
But because of what you've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who you are

I am yours

To the people that matter - like the government - You are a economic statistic that dictates the value of your countries currency.

The more of your fellow countrymen using the currency the greater it's value, the less of you the using it - less it's value.

If there is not enough poverty - to sustain your countries currency and wealth - your country simply lets more in.

If you are a girl you are slightly more important because you can squirt out more "economic statistics",

And that is ultimately who you are, and how "important" you - and I - and everyone else is, either politically, philosophically and in reality.

They feed us all the b*llshit in the world to stop us thinking this mind, and too make us feel somehow self important or "individual" - but most of them only want to preserve the wealth of the nation and only see you in these terms.

I create who I am by my actions. Some people have meaning by being a doctor, engineer, musician, artist, etc. and I don't have the brains or talent for any of that. So, I make meaning in my life by my actions. I decided that if I wanted my life to mean something I had to do good acts, help people, donate time and money wherever I could.

I've came through a pretty rigorous life including military service, prison and sometimes sleeping rough. My life at present doesn't seem to have a lot of meaning but my attitude is I'll be damned if I came through what I have done just to give in. My past hardships and the fact I dealt with them is what gives me some sense of purpose at the present time.

The "Who am I" question assumes we are static beings who can be known as opposed to simply identified. We change with every thought and experience, so that's a futile question. "How do I have meaning in my life" should be just as simple as making a list of things you do that result in a feeling of satisfaction, accomplishment and self-worth. For me, it's helping someone in a bind, contributing to a cause, barring a bully's path, standing up for someone who can't stand alone, as well as more mundane things like reading a good book. Hearing a funny joke. Seeing my daughter smile. It doesn't have to be about solving world peace or finding ultimate truth.

No Substitutions Allowed
Jonah 1-2
The story of Jonah’s resistance to the Lord’s calling is legendary. But isn’t it unfortunate that God had to go to such extreme measures to get His prophet to obey?
Jonah did what we all sometimes try to do — namely, substitute our plan for God’s. There are times when we know what the Lord has in mind, but resist anyway. Then whenever we pray, it seems He brings up the issue we have been trying to avoid. The pressure to act never lets up until we decide either to do what God asks or to quit praying. So we proceed, but not according to the plan laid before us. Instead, we choose a course that fit our desires, and we try to drown out God’s voice in a flurry of activity. Maybe we even get involved in some ministry, hoping that He will be appeased.
All of that busyness and service from wrong motivation will bring only misery. Anything short of complete obedience is disobedience; if getting us to learn this principle requires that we be swallowed up by whale-sized trouble, God will allow it in our life. The Lord is not interested in our convenience or comfort; He is focused on conforming His children to Christlikeness and using them to spread the Gospel throughout the world. Substituting our shortsighted plan for His is selfish.
When we resist God’s perfect plan for our life because of what it might cost us in wealth, time, or social status, we fall deeper into the belly of strife and distress. But the moment we repent and commit to obey, we are purged from the self-imposed prison of disobedience. Following the Lord’s plan for our life is the way to peace and joy.

It's a hard question. We don't know what the point of life is. Except to keep life going, and leave our legacy with our children. Life could be an accident of nature. We are matter that has a conscious awareness. It's absurd.

I am a child of God. I have meaning in my life when I take the focus off of myself and see the others around me God has placed in my life to help in some way.

When we reach out to others, be it with just a kind word or a huge donation of money to build up a village in a dying country, whatever big or small thing God is calling us to do - that is what gives our lives meaning.

I am Chicky, just Chicky.

I obtain meaning in my life by absorbing all the joy I can out of living each day and trying every day to make the people around me as happy as I am. I don't always succeed, but I try.

You are a wonderful person and a real person. It takes a real person to ask this question.
The best way to put meaning into your life is to put meaning into the lives of those around you.
By the way, That is what I'm doing now.
Join me! Maybe we'll make a club. Anyone else is also welcome.
