From a Christian point of view, be reconciled to God first, receive salvation.

Then, two passages come to mind:
Matthew 5:22-25 says to reconcile with others before you worship God, if you know you have offended them.
Matthew 18:15-19 says that if others offend you, to tell them rather than let a grudge build up in you.

Whether we offend others, or others offend us, as Christians we are to take the first steps toward reconciliation. It doesn't matter "who started it," it's just the right thing to do.

But we cannot do it without first being reconciled to God.

If we have fault with our brother God willnot accept our sacrifice or offering to him. See Matthew 18:15

I just read this yesterday in the bible actually. It said that if you hate your brethren, you cannot likewise love God. You must love brothers ( and everyone for that matter ) if you want love from God and to love Him back. What He doesn't (seem) to accept, is hate. Hate at all, at any level, in any form, for it is not Godly. Godliness is loveliness. Love to love, by being happy just to be. :o]

1 John 4

20If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

21And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
