I was just wondering which religion has the most followers. Its not for any type of assignment, but for personal knowledge. Serious answers please, and I'm not asking for a religion bashing session, so please be kind to people who actually believe in something.

Christianity with all it's various forms comes in first with 33%, or 2.1 Billion believers. Islam is growing very quickly with 1.3 billion believers at 21% of the world's population, with the most concentrated area being Indonesia. The non-religious group comprises 16% which is separated down the middle with agnostics , atheists and those who believe in some sort of Higher Power but are not religious, probably those who would call themselves spiritual but not religious, then ranking in fourth place Hinduism comes in at 14% as the fourth most popular religion.

Christianity has the largest followers at the moment, which is closely followed by Islam. Islam is the fastest GROWING religion, with more and more converting to it each day.

If you put Eastern Orthodox, Catholic and protestant together... then Chrstianity
I do not believe in the numbers game for deciding what is true and in 1492 if most people thought the world was flat.... the world was still round
I do think Christianity is true and Jesus died and rose from the dead to prove it

Islam, by a wide margin-people who are "nominally" Christian i.e. the majority don't count. At least Muslims generally practice the religious beliefs they claim to adhere to.
