In the bible God and Satan battle, there is a great war in heaven and Satan is cast out...so it seems that war has originated from God, we "being" in his image...is this why there is so many wars.If this is how God settles his debates are we not just following are Fathers example? The amount that is suffered doesnt matter...we have a point to prove.

I've always wondered how wars can be fought by two eternal beings (God and an Angel). I bet it's nothing like anything we experiance as war on Earth.

Wouldn't it be funny if war in Heaven was playing a game of shoots and ladders? God won when He went up the ladder, but Satan fell down a shoot into Hell.

One of those things we'll have to ask God when we go to Heaven. I bet He has an amazing since of humor. I mean common... a platapus.

Interesting question.

There are many stories in the bible that center around the "war" between good and evil. Of course this war has a body count. Then there are instances where god simply wipes out a population he believes is evil. There's Noah, and Sodom and Gomorrah as examples of that. And then there is the final battle which according to the Christians is yet to come. The final battle between god and satan. That being the case...

What does this say about "diplomacy?" If you are a Christian believer, the fact that this involves no war between good and evil but instead tries to accommodate the "other" - it could easily be translated as being an action that is directly influenced by satan. Given that fundamentalist Christians believe that satan is waiting for them on every corner for his chance to tempt you, and to quote Star Wars, bring you over to the dark side, the mere fact that you are trying to find some common ground between two opposing sides would constitute "acceptance" of something that is counter to your beliefs. Consequently, for the Christian, diplomacy must be a direct result of satan. On the other hand...

Perhaps as human beings we have evolved spiritually to a higher plain of existence than is demonstrated in the bible. Perhaps the act of diplomacy is an action that demonstrates our understanding that all human beings, no matter their ethnic origin or religion, are worthy of our respect and understanding. Diplomacy shows that we have grown beyond looking at the other as Philistines. Consequently, would you not agree that Bush's underlying desire to make America into a Christian theocracy is a dramatic step backwards? Not only in terms of the Constitution, but in terms of our own spiritual growth?

Many people and priest themselves misinterprets the sentence "made in God's image"

i'll give an example. Ed boon's creator of Mortal Kombat video game, have a character will four hands and two legs. you can see for e.g in the newspaper "Ed boon's image of Goro and later Sheeva have amazing animation."

Does that mean that Ed's boon have four legs and do fatalities when he finish to fight somebody? NO NO and NO.
it just mean that God created us the way He wanted us to ressemble and behave.

Man have concience and is inclided to do good deeds. However as God created weak and allows us the freedom to choose, many times we choose what is easiest to do. So when somebody is giving you a large sum of money(bribes) to do an action which is so simple for you to do; you simply do it.

you can think why war started?

War originated not with God, but with Satan. War is never the answer, but is the last resort, after all else has failed.

Nope.
The scriptures tell us that Adam was made in God's image.
Sin entered the world, blah, blah, blah, and in Genesis 5:3, the scripture says that Adam had a son, Seth, who was made in Adam's image.

We are all now made after the image of Adam, whose sin nature was complete. It is mankind's sin nature where the idea of war, and more personally, conflict originates.

no God (Jesus Christ) does not endorse war;but He'd also not a fool and will defend Himself and/or believers that follow Him.

All the pain and suffering is being spurred by Satan and people make the dumb decision to follow him.

John 10:10-The thief(Satn) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

I think that the 'made in His image' means that we have a sense of morality, can create, can love, can give, can release, can cheerfully mourn, can weep with joy...can be strong when faced with the stronger....can choose the lesser of what is offered so another benefits, and on and on

"Paradoxically, a person who exhibits such tremendous ego and self-confidence in reality has such low self-esteem and such a fragile ego that he cannot abide any expression other than his own, for fear of annihilation of the self. Therefore everything that is not under his control is perceived as a threat."
