Where it is from, and what it is? I saw one question that told what it is from the Islamic viewpoints. But, not all Muslims know it. That surprised me. So many of my Muslim and Jewish friends wear them. It is very popular in the Mid-east---------a stone in the middle of is to keep the evil eye away from you. I have alot of them (different types of jewelry).

BUT! It started in the Mid-east long before Islam. The Jews of this part of the world use it, too. They had it long before Christianity and Islam came along.

The Jews call it the hand of Mariam (sister of Moses), tho some call it the hand of G-d. I do not like this as I feel G-d should not be depicted in any way.

Can anyone add anything to this? I'd like to learn more.

I feel victimized by the long planning and guile of evil people and I wonder why God has allowed such activity to be carried out against me. I see it happening to others too. What did we miss, did we seriously error and allow ourselves to meet with these evil consequences, is it our insensitivity?

further they think it Isaiah lied and it wasnt a sign-a miracle it was a regular birth-and God was born imanuel (God with us in Hebrew0

some ever ignorantly say the young maiden virgin word -alma doesnt mean virgin and that bethulah does-yet a bethulah is a widow in the bible-"Lament like a bethulah/virgin (living as a virgin) for the husband of thy youth." (Joel 1vs8&9)

what do you do with the virgin birth-born a sign God with us-your eternity depends on it!!!!

Really I admire the freedom of talk you have but it seems you have no limits !

May be this is the point that makes the friction between Islam world and others.

Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) was a live example of Islam. We take his words and his ACTS as religion for us. If someone insults him , we ask ourselves why ? the answer is because he was a living example of islam. He did not do any thing other than that.

Then this insult is directly transfered to the religion. It is red line to us.

We are not against the dialogue. But it should be in a very civilized manner with no insult.

What ignites the issue is that our world became a small village and when ignorant foolish irrespitable creature insults our prohet all the world knows even the uncontrolable simple muslims who feel that it is more than they can take and this energy is out with no control from scholars who diffinately don't agree on these reactions.

My 20 month old son will be going in for surgery to remove a fatty tissue connected to his spinal cord, tethered cord syndrome. You may not agree with my political ideals, however contrary to popular belief liberals aren't "Godless". I strongly believe in God and the power of prayer, this is why I ask for my son. His name is Jaeden Trace, he will be admitted at 6 am Friday Oct. 6, his surgery will take place between 8 am and 12 pm. Any prayers are greatly appreciated and Godbless you all!
