When doing a ritual, *most* Pagans (eclectics) use each of the elements... Fire, Air, Water, Earth. Look at what the Catholics use:
Candles - Fire
Incense - Air
Holy Water - Water
Eucharist - Earth
Both do their "rituals" on an ALTAR, which is usually covered in an altar cloth.
The Catholic Mass (ritual) ends with giving thanks to God. Pagans end with giving thanks to the Gods, elementals, and directions. But, still, nonetheless, they both give thanks to their deities.
Before anybody claims Paganism is copying Catholicism, Paganism has been around since 10000 BCE (Before Common Era aka BC) while Monotheism came around in 5000 BCE. The Bible came around in 400 CE (Common Era, aka AD).
So, what do you think about the similarities? I know they are different religions, but, there ARE some similarities.
