How much pain or illness? Would you accept dependancy on science for that chance? Would you find it more selfish to give up than to suffer for say your children who still need you? Me I choose willing 3 bad days a week so that I may have 4 good ones with which to spend raising my sons. Your choices are yours what would you choose?

You will endure suffering for the ones you love. You will hang on and work through the bad days and you will not give up.I would accept dependancy on science (doctors, medicine, etc.) as long as I was awake enough to speak to them. You can beat this, I know you can.

As human beings, we need our own existence to be validated. If we are put in a position where this is taken away from us, we will suffer greatly and eventually take out our suffering on the situation and people within that scenario which deprives us of that necessary validation. Bottom line? It's all a matter of perception. There are people who are validated by their loved ones. The scenario you've described here would be ideal for them. On the other hand, you have people who need outlets to their personal creativity which validates their existence. In this case, your scenario would be a living nightmare - a horror story. Consequently, this is a case by case question with highly personal answers.

And me. How would I react?

I'd take a bullet for my husband, children and the people I love. But an extended, long illness? That would be very difficult for me.

If I had a choice I would grant myself anything I wanted with out suffering, but I do not have that choice, do I have a choice to stay on the earth or fly away under my own power and visit Jesus in heaven without dying. Do I have a choice what god I want as my savior, no.
The only choice I have are society choice, will I go to college or be a labor, will I invest my money in a 401K or spend it, and so on. I do have a choice to believe what I want and promote what I believe, until I am told to stop by the forces that rule over us.

God calls you to be the head and not the tail, to walk in victory and as an ambassador. When suffering comes up He's there to help you through it, but the pain is not the object of our salvation. So maybe I'd answer your question with another: "How much love would you be willing to give!" by that I mean, how much love has God given you and how much of it are you willing to share?
Do you want to tell folk...I suffer for you or I love you?

That's a tough question Debra.

As a follower of Jesus He has told me/us that we are to bear one anothers burdens. This is something which all believers struggle with every day. Sin has prevented us from the blessings that come from it, due to our selfish nature.

It's ultimately our choice, as you have said, whether or not to suffer for the sake of someone else. After all, Jesus suffered on our behalf.

I pray that when the time comes I'll have the grace needed to suffer for the ones I love, and even ones who I don't know.

I would absolutely choose all the pain and suffering put on me so that my loved ones, especially my children, would not go through any pain or illness. In my heart, I feel that my faith in God would help me to go through (for example) an illness on me instead of my children. God knows what all we can take and at what strength, so I would depend on Him to show me His mercy to endure.

Hi Debra,
I am at tears almost...
I read your question you have on the main character page, you avatar.
Jesus loves you sooo much.
Godbless you for being open enough to ask this question.
please read this info from the link provided.
God uses others to speak to one another.
the problem is that "baptists" believe in once saved always saved, and this is false. We must live and obey the bible-God you know? This is maybe why you "converted". But that entire system is false. It will not lead you to the truth, or to your creator

*FOR THE SAKE OF YOU KIDS AND YOUR OWN LIFE, ETERNITY IS 4EVER. please read this, and ALL the other tracts provided on this site. It is worth the SOUL SEARCHING AND UNDERSTANDING.
open again, your bible (king james only) and seek Jesus sincerely.
much love and concern/care in Chist. -LIVE4TRUTH=]

Deb what people say or think is irrelivant. Does it really matter what the confused think?

It's what you know in your heart that is true.

I also chose family but I'm starting to realise that the world is my family too.

I owe them all a great debt that I need to try to repay.

Love and blessings

depends upon how dependent they are on me. my family are either dead or grown so there is no one but a lady I'm going with at the present time. however, if she needed me I'd do whatever it takes to make certain She'll be all right. this is what love is all about.
