You can say all you want that when we die we will have to stand in front of god and he is going to weigh our positives and negatives and all that sort of crap but my question is that can god just put a big THE END sign at the end of our book of life whenever he wants or whenever he thinks that we have been here long enough??

Would you agree that you and I are Atheists because there is no God, that God and religions are inventions of (wo)men, that all humans are born Atheist, and that it is in fact Theists who make a choice wether voluntary or involuntary to be "religious believers".

Do you agree that it is not a decision to be an Atheist, it is just a state of reality, and that the religious person is in fact that person who "made a decision".

These contridictions in the bible are perplexing to me. If a road map told you to turn left AND right at the same time, if you were told to stay AND go at the same time wouldn't you be confused?

if the idea of God was just a creator and left us to our own devices without intereferance
our good and bad deeds on this earth are our responsibility
there was no wrong faith ( or non faith ) and you were judged soley on how good a life you lead here
but
there was no eternal damnation ........

i guess the question i am asking is ... are you athiest because of dogmatic teachings ?
if you removed the dogma would it make a difference to how you feel about a creator ?
there are no right or wrong answers here i really am just trying to understand how you reached the desicion you reached
