Iman in arabic means to "believe/trust" someone or someone to be truthful. So... I can say... "I have Iman in you being a YA user". Meaning... I believe/trust that you are a YA user.

For example When Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Ali Wa Sallim delivering Kutba on His last Hajj, He asked Sahaba(RA) Which Month is this and they said Allah & Prophet knows better even though every one know what month is that!, again He asked Which city is that they again said Allah&Prophet knows better even though everyone know the answer!, again He asked showing Kaaba what is this?again they said same thing!, after some time this Hadith went to one Tabei(R) to Imam Abu Hanifa and He enquired why Sahaba(RA) not gave answer and Tabei(R) said I also asked same with that Sahabi(RA) he said we don't know what is in the heart of Beloved! By saying this he means that if Prophet say from to day this month will be called "Safar" we will call it, if He say from today this city is called "Madina" we will call it... that is the power of Imaan which will only come with the love of Prophet. You think if this thing happens today what will happen?

To acknowledge is closest;
Yaqeen is the right word "to believe"
For your better undersatnding, opposite of Iman is rejection
and opposite of yaqeen is doubt.
Hope this helps

Iman - to believe or more precisely, faith.
In order to have 'iman', I think you would need to do all three.

Yeah?, that's what "they" say. But the question is "WHAT" do they acknowledge, understand, and believe? It is not love and peace. It is murder and hatred. Read "Islam Revealed" by Dr Annis Shorrosh. He was born and raised in Nazareth-he can tell you what "Imam" means.
