I know many Amish actually use their neighbors' modern appliances, but feel it is wrong to have one in their own homes. Why is it OK for your neighbor to break the rules & for your own convenience?

Yes some Amish have computers!
I receive emails weekly from an Amish friend of mine.
He said tomorrow he will be getting DSL!
The few that have computers have them for business and only a few select people know about them. If word got out the whole community would be talking about it and their church bishop would meet with the computer owner and force him to get rid of it.
I have more Amish history on my website www.amishdining.com

I am not Amish and I don't know, but you will certainly not get an answer here from someone who doesn't use a computer.

they can't have electricity in their homes but they can in their barns, so maybe they are using a computer in the barn. I guess it doesn't matter if Bessie the cow goes to hell as long as she gets milked!
