Why does this argument make sense to some people? It seems completely illogical to me. How can someone say for example that Christianity is older than Islam and therefore true...don't they consider Judaism or even the Ancient Egyptian Gods?

if Jesus came back today, you would turn to God as truth or would you not be able to? I just wonder. There is no way to prove one way or another that God exists or does not. Knowing God is about experiencing him. This is not an attack just a legitimate?

And if so, can you answer me this, if the universe is only 6,000 years old as Ken Ham asserts, but very basic astronomy tells us that the furthest objects that we can see at night are 12 billion years away, is he suggesting that our factual understanding of the speed of light is erroneous, just like he claims that all 42 types of radio-isotope dating are "bogus" (his word)?

And, at $30,000,000 bucks a year, don't you think that it's possible that he just does this for the money?

Did he create anything else before the stuff in the Bible? How did he know he could create stuff? If he always knew, since forever, that probably means he created other stuff, right?

We would all like to excape the terrible time and even hope too. If we are on this earth at the End Times, we will suffer and have to lay down our life for Jesus Christ..

Scary Yes

Also, remember that God has allowed His most devoted servants to suffer incredibly in this life, even up to the point of martyrdom like John the Baptist, Steven, James and Antipas. Moreover, many prophets of God were killed by Jezebel in her day (1 Kings 18:4, 13). But most noteworthy is how the Father allowed His only begotten son, Jesus of Nazareth, to suffer horribly and then die on the cross for all of mankind. God's love permitted all of that to happen and will also allow for the last generation of saints to face the antichrist

And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die.

I am a mere newbie to this wonderful religion and knew right away that this was my calling once I heard of the Finger of Friendship.

I have seen the meatballs and know this is my true calling.

I have many questions but the main on is this; The Christians do the hand gesture, father son holy spirit thing. Are there any sacred gestures aside from the Finger that I must do once I pray to the mighty FSM?

When I was in Catholic High School they said we could wait to get confirmed if we would like. I decided to. I had been baptized late and had my first comunion late (Both in 7th Grade). It was like every thing was all so recent. I waited until I had just finished College. It was a very good time for me. I had the energy to really focus on my faith. I was going through a very hard time in my life and it was very good for me to have that close connection with my religion.

I had a very good religion program in high school, so it was not like I was lacking religion while I was in school.

What do you think about timing of confirmation?

Here at Yahoo we kind of wear our religions on our sleeves....but what about in the real world? Have you ever thought about how many people we interact with every day without discussing religion? We seem to get along fine with no heated debate. Just think of how may times a Buddist talks with a Muslim, or even a Christian interacts with a Satanist. No one is none the wiser and life goes on...comments...

Seriously. I am highly skeptical that any of you can possibly see that level of stupidity and raise it a notch.

I hereby challenge each of you to post something that could possibly be more idiotic that this.

I have a Bible printed in 1588. It's the Protestant response to the first English translation by the Catholics. It shows the Rheims and Fulke translations side by side - reading it is like travelling back in time to the wars of religion that shaped western civilization. it was printed a generation before the King James translation was made, and when Shakespeare was still a struggling young playwright. The bad news is that it was re-bound in the 1800s, and the covers have come unattached. So the pages at the start and end are quite tatty. I love that book, but I need some money to buy some music, so I was wondering what my old Bible might be worth on eBay.

Democrats are running full speed ahead trying to convince everyone that they have deep Christian commitments. A recent poll indicated that of all Democrats who responded only 23% percent claimed to be Christian. Whereas, if I recall the figure correctly, 72% of Republicans claimed to be Christian.

Not trying to make any judgments about what this means in regard to which party is best able to govern. Just seems that Republicans don't feel a need to hide who they are. Whereas Democrats feel it important that people have a perception of them that seems not to be supported by the facts. If a Republican is or is not a person of Christian faith, say like it is. If a Democrat is or is not a person of Christian faith, likewise, just say it like it is.
