I never understood why Jews consider Jesus the last prophet. There has got to be a logical reason he is the last recognized prophet... (like I am totally wrong and he is not recognized at all.)

Considering that there are more creatures on this earth than you could possibly count, evolution must have taken place at a remarkable rate considering the earth is only 4 billions years old. With all the creatures that no longer exist because of dying out and life didn't actually start 4 billions years ago according to you but only hundreds of millions of years ago, there must have been changes on an almost daily basis. What happened then? Did evolution just stop? Shouldn't we be seeing these changes before our eyes? Shouldn't chickens have lost their wings by now because they no longer need them, except to feed us I mean? We should be seeing something according to you. Please explain what happened.

They cannot naturally reproduce and pass on their traits.

I'm not baiting Darwinism or homosexuality, actually. I'm just curious how this could be intelligently answered. Thanks for you ideas.

Seriously, I look on Yahoo! and around the campus I live on and all the people going on and on and on about getting into heaven are total squares. They don't sound interesting, have nothing else to talk about except for God, and quite frankly not my kind of people. I am a Christian (unitarian universalist) but I have more fun and more things in common with my atheist/agnostic friends than most Christians (kind of like Jesus did). So why would I want to go to Heaven if I don't get to see anyone I actually enjoyed during my existence here? Why not make the most of things when we really don't know what the afterlife (if there even is one) holds for us?

Everyone who gives this question a "thumbs down" is probably a total bore.

I believe there is a purpose to existence and that death is not just the end. But that's the extent of my belief system. I think Christianity is just an overblown, 2000 year old fad and creationism is pretty much the dumbest thing I've ever heard of in my lifetime. I'd rather call myself 'agnostic' than 'atheist', but being an agnostic is getting kind of cliche nowadays. Who's with me?

I know it's been asked why anyone who doesn't like Jesus being the way to heaven would want to go there when He is ruling and reigning as the ultimate authority there.

But what I want to know is, why would anyone reject Jesus as being the way to heaven when they haven't truly opened their hearts to experience Him? If you haven't tried a certain food, how do you know you don't like it? The Bible says to taste and see that the Lord is good!

The only way to taste is to be willing to lose the pride of self-rulership, I admit. In other words, the only way to really know Jesus is to humble oneself & call out to Him from that earnest, heartfelt place of humility & ask Him to come in.

If you've only known one way of life how can you say another way is undesirable? Or if you tried Jesus & say it didn't work for you, can you look Jesus in the eye & say you truly yielded to His way, or, if you were to be really honest admit that you probably tried to get Him to conform to your way?

make you realize that church is a business, and its business is to take your money? How horrible is this to say about another Christian?

-------->

"The Church is the corporate body of Christ. As scriptures tell us He is the Head of the Church and we the body. Therefore, if a Christian never sets foot in a Church (that is be with the community and worship and serve with them), could they even be considered Christian? Since it is in Christ, through the Holy Spirit, that we are all gathered as one body, would a Christian believe they are faithful if they alienate themselves from that body (Church)?

"CHURCH IS THE CORPORATE BODY OF CHRIST" I think this came from a priest!

How does that make you feel?

Does this basic law of nature prevent Evolution?

If Evolution is true, there must be an extremely powerful force or mechanism at work in the cosmos that can steadily defeat the powerful, ultimate tendency toward "disarrangedness" brought by the 2nd Law. If such an important force or mechanism is in existence, it would seem it should be quite obvious to all scientists. Yet, the fact is, no such force of nature has been found.
