I love some of these answers. The best explanation so far is that Noah didn't bring the Dinosaurs on the Ark. Can you just picture Noah running around getting animals, and he sees a T-Rex ripping the guts out of a Brontosaurus. He says, "You know what, let's leave those guys behind."

I would explain it in a simple way. Dinosaurs existed before the great flood. God had Noah bring animals on board the ark, God also brought the animals to Noah, but didn't allow the dinosaur species. His plan was to do away with the old and bring about a new start.
So the dinosaurs were simply victims of the great flood. This also explains why their fossils are commonly found deep in layers of mud and sediment with signs of a great earthly disaster. The common belief is that the dinosaur species was wiped out quickly, which would be explained by a great flood of water.

There was no such word as dinosaur when the Bible was written or when it was first translated into modern language. The word diosaur is a farely new word. The Bible mentions Leviathan and Behemoth both are described and sound like dinosaurs. Many others think some of the references to dragons in the King James version may refer to Dinosaurs. Genesis says God created the sea and Land animals.

I have two theory's. One is there is a time Gap between verse one and two of chapter one of Genesis. That may have been a huge time span when Satan ruled the earth before God cast him from heaven. He was in the garden when Adam and Eve were created. The theory I believe is that if you study the Bible, man lived 700-900 years before the great flood when God destroyed the earth by water. Reptiles still to this day grow until the day they die. Si if reptiles grew at this rate and they live longer back then that would explain why they were so big. Noah did not take the big ones on his ark. Only the little ones and man only lives 7-80 years old now.

There are dinosaurs listed in the Bible. Look into Leviathan and Behemoth. According to the Bible, the atmosphere was quite different prior to Noah's flood. I think this had a lot to do with what happened to the dinosaurs. I also believe that the flood would have drastically changed the sediment in the earth to make it appear that the dinosaurs were much older than they truly were.

God created the dinosaurs. What other reason is there? I definitely believe in dinos. In the book of Job, some scholars and theologians believe that it even mentions a dinosaur. It is too long to write out but the verses are Job 40: 15 through 41:11. In those verses it speaks of a behemoth, whose tail is like a cedar tree. And much more.

SOME Christians explain dinosaurs basically that they existed before the great flood and didn't have the special VIP pass to get on Noah's Arc and totally ignore any legitimate scientific data to the contrary.
I'm a Christian, but also an anthropologist. I know better. Also, the flood story was probably a conglomeration of flood stories from neighboring cultures (Mesopotamia and Egypt in particular).

Dino's are big reptiles. Did you know that they basically never stop growing. If they had long life spans, some of the reptiles that we have right now would get pretty big. Plus, in Genesis and Job, these books refer to attributes of the earth that clue us in on the atmosphere. Like the possibility of high O2 levels and such which would explain the longer life spans. I'm not really good at this stuff, but it does interest me. Check it out... the info is out there. If your search is for truth, you'll find it. If it is to fuel an arguement, you'll find that too.

Why do we need to explain dinosaurs? I'm sorry, I just don't see how dinosaurs and Christianity have anything to do with one another? I never saw anything in the Bible that says dinosaurs didn't exist. It's like asking Christians to explain trees... What's your point?

I think scientists have a weird idea that they can date a bone like they do. How do they know if an animal that big bones grow and age the same as a persons. So maybe they are onlt 2000 years old. Thats what I think

In the book of Enoch, it describes the fallen angels committing blasphemy agains the creatures of the earth, in essence, genetic manipulation. This is where the dinosaurs came from and one of the reasons God destroyed the world with a flood.
