Seriously, I look on Yahoo! and around the campus I live on and all the people going on and on and on about getting into heaven are total squares. They don't sound interesting, have nothing else to talk about except for God, and quite frankly not my kind of people. I am a Christian (unitarian universalist) but I have more fun and more things in common with my atheist/agnostic friends than most Christians (kind of like Jesus did). So why would I want to go to Heaven if I don't get to see anyone I actually enjoyed during my existence here? Why not make the most of things when we really don't know what the afterlife (if there even is one) holds for us?

Everyone who gives this question a "thumbs down" is probably a total bore.

twowords - you don't know anything about me. Thanks for proving my point, remember Jesus said, "judge not lest you not be judged." And I better myself everyday, I spend most of my time READING and THINKING about things rather then just blindly accepting what some quack preacher has to say.

Not everyone believes there is a Hell with lakes of fire and damnation and brimstone and torture and guys with little pointed horns and tails and those guys are red and....oh wait, I'm getting carried away. Anyway, that Hell is a Christian concept. In Judaism, it's believed that one goes to a place to be cleansed of any sins or wrongs committed and then when that process is finished, you are allowed to enter into the presence of God. Not saying that I believe that....just trying to show that there are more concepts of Hell than just the Christian one. It's not even called Hell in Judaism. It's not about punishment; it's about renewing. But I agree with you that making the most of things when we don't know what is to come is the best way to live. Buddhists and Jews both believe in right living in THIS life.

Since everyone goes to Hell, otherwise known as the grave, when they die, just as Christ did, I guess they are all having fun, except that the can't do anything, just like Christ couldn't for three days until he was resurrected. Those who took part in the first Resurrection, will go to heaven, but only if they have been Reborn of the Holy Spirit. The "other sheep not of this fold" who take part in the second resurrection, will live on Earth, which they will rebuild back into a paradise, tearing down all the symbols of the old system. But, they will not marry or be given in marriage.

The bible doesn't say what happens with them after the first 1000 years, maybe they are sent out to the other planets.

Hell is awesome. It is a thousand times better then heaven. Hell is like an exclusive fraternity. They spread rumors about how terrible all the hazing is and how much pain is involved in joining. This is just to scare of the lame *** Charlie Church contingent who would just **** up the party if the got in. Hell is a kick *** never ending party. THis is why when ever something cool happens people will say things like hell yes, or hell yeah. You never hear anyone say heaven yeah, because deep down inside everyone knows heaven sucks.

Heaven is boring, there is literally nothing to do. The only good thing asbout heaven is that all the peole there are kept in the dark about how cool hell is. The only pleasure they get is from imagining how much worse of hell is.

call me a bore but i knwo what i want.

how can yu even doubt that there is a heaven? when was the last time you went to church. AND payed attention? sounds to me like it was a long time ago.

Do you even know what Hell is? How unbareable it will be? the whole suffering is that your alone...you probably wont even see all your friends you say have to much fun. YOU WILL BE COMPLETELY MISERABLE with the thought that you're not with God. that's why Hell is so bad.

Have you tried talking to your fellow christians? Have you given them a chance? You just need to take your religion a little seriouly that's all. They really have a lot to offer. and so does heaven

They may be having fun now, but they will not be having fun in hell. There will be nothing but screaming and crying and begging in hell, but by then it will be too late for them. So if that's what you want, go for it.

P.S. How can you say that you are a christian, if you question whether there is an afterlife?

A real hell? Real Hell is... well,

Who wants to hang around someone who has no self respect, does not strive to better themselves, and has tendencies to eat your brain and stick you in the throat with a dull butcher knife? Fun to me is laughing... and humor is God's gift. Those who claim they don't believe in a higher power (and you claim are fun people) are actually exhibiting gifts received from a loving Father.

for one i hope that you're not serious. i find your question troublesome because its not gonna be a great big party in hell. I'd rather have salvation and peace than think about parting and who's a square or not. i love my pure thoughts of God and what i think heaven will be like. i like the thought of being a soldier for God and representing for Him as i try to do on earth. If this makes me a bore, i don't care go ahead and snore and I'll pray for you tonight. God bless!

You sound like one of the few Christians that I would not mind being around. Even one of the few I would not mind talking about my personal beliefs with.

Why would you want to go to heaven when all the fun people are going to hell?

Because all those people will be in ISOLATION CHAMBERS!

NOT Jazzing!
