While a judicious use of a little humor in religious discussion can ease tensions, do some people here not know when enough is enough?

Maybe this section died long ago. Most people here just want to ridicule people whose beliefs are different, rather than trying to understand each other.

When is enough, enough, hmmmm. Good question. I suppose, in my poor misguided opinion only of course; that it is when it's too much. I've yet to see that, but still; it may come. This freedom is heady stuff after all. Goodness knows we can't have that! Perhaps they can amend the Constitution, or the Charter of Rights and Freedoms to make these Souls more bland, more like we all should be. A world of Vanilla, Mmmmm; tasty; yet safe! Conforming, Yes; 1984; Brave New World; oh that would be wonderful. Perhaps wonderful is the wrong word, blissfully drab; yes that's it! Hang your liberty up at the door, lets burn a few books and watch "Andy of May berry" over and over again; till we get it right! Do right, always work; go to Church!!!! Sound like an idyllic prolonged childhood. I wonder who the new King will be?

Was it ever alive? Religions are dead to start with and so-called spirituality is mostly a figment of the human imagination.

The people who are making money off the system are to busy to show up here.

Some should direct their questions to the philosophy section.

I think a true debate forum, with rules, would cut down on crass humor and put self proclaimed intellectuals to the test. The real interchange needed in this topic is often lacking in this foremat.

the completed 'debate' is what's a severe question? How do you gage someone's sincerity? once you initiate attempting to respond to questions like that then you honestly initiate entering into censorship or maybe as there are some parts (to me) that are open and close no go parts in a public communicate board there are better gray parts then you honestly recognize. on the right of the day that is basic sufficient to bypass questions that you don't like, in truth if better human beings did that then there's a lot less room for various idiots/trolls who infect Yahoo solutions many times. I delight in non secular better open ended questions the position there is a few room for debate or opinion. I save coming lower back, because I nonetheless locate it eye-catching how those style of human beings from different walks and a even as of existence truly come at the same time and initiate communicatings concepts and beliefs.

It is your call on this question. However, my experience is that most people in America acknowledge only the positive and pretty side of Spirituality. One of the most important qualities of the religious experience is confronting the unknown, the hostile, the loss or the pure sorrow of life. As I say this, I think about American funerals being basically antiseptic in nature.
Funeral Directors in an effort to make the experience as easy as possible hide the dirt taken out of the ground to make the grave. But even more mysterious to me is the desire in our society to keep the funeral ceremonies unchallenging which implies and incourages an acceptance of death without questioning it or the meaning of death in general.
Taking all mystery out of death seems like taking all the meaning out of life.
I think this is part of what makes a thing like Iraq so hopeless, we can't just forget the dead, dying and the wounded. It is as if there lifes were unimportant.

This place is mostly infantile. But I've found the asking a very difficult question, that isn't baiting, the smart ones surface and answer. The idiots ignore it.

They've gone too far in ridiculing others and it shows what bigots they are. Hateful, little people who are incredibly closed minded. I just love when they call people of Christianity or religion close minded, yet they're calling the kettle black.

Actually, the more fundamentalists get pushed out to make way for the What Do I Do Retard, the more fun this section gets. Religious people tend to be seriously lacking in the silliness department.

I know what you mean. Some funny (but clever) questions are entertaining. But I haven't seen any good mind provoking questions in a while.
