I've noticed that some denominations have the same views on certian ideas. Can you please state your denomination and give a brief explination of what you believe? I.E. Christians believe Jesus is the Mesiah, died for our sins, rose again and is coming back.

Thanks :)

"To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour"

From "Augeries of Innocence" by William Blake

This is my 3rd favorite poem, but this is probably my favorite excerpt that I could pull out of any, "Excelsior" and "A Psalm of Life" kind of have to be read as a whole. Don't you think it teaches a great lesson...

My conclusion is that: If Heaven existed, it would be either contaminated by human greed or static and boring. Why don´t we try to be happy here instead?

Atheists hate god. We just don't believe in him. Hor example I don't believe there is a man named Garghelgaggenshmeiger living on the North Pole. That doesn't mean if I met Garghelgaggenshmeiger on the North Pole I would hate him.

Did you know that in the Bible it says "I tell you the truth, all sins and blashpemies of men will be forgiven them. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will NEVER be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin"(Mark 3: 28-29)

prefer us to kill lots of people but become christian and gain forgivness at the end of our lives?

if god really wants us to get into heaven then you would have to say that he would prefer the later - but this means that a killer is allowed into heaven while the non killer is sent to hell?

I am a Catholic and I am preatty tired of people suggesting that I'm going to hell because I worship idols, which is not the case obviously. Sure, we do have statues of Jesus and our saints but we do not worship them.

"You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth." This is a commandment that was pulled right out of the Bible(NIV). But do you understand the differance between an idol and an icon.

Idol- a material effigy that is worshipped

Icon- a picture, image, or other representation
(This is what us Catholics have)

Thank you for listening.

(Are there any comments that relate to what I have just said?)

Hello!! :o) I hope you're OK. I very recently asked if God is 'all-knowing'. Most of you said 'yes'. If YOU said 'yes' - I can't help but ask... WHY PRAY?! If God is - as many of you believe - ALL KNOWING - than He would already know what you want and need. So again I ask... WHY PRAY?! Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

PS I do NOT believe that God is 'all-knowing'. [just so you know] I believe prayer is very important - for that reason.

Are books like the Davinci Code, and the left behind series replacing Biblical teachings?
Why is the hell of Dante's Inferno accept over the Bible's description?
Or, does god work through other books than the bible?

Once upon a time I was a Christian and showed a lot of Christian love to all I encountered. A friend of mine that I haven't seen in 25 years has contacted me. She was converted from Roman Catholic to Evangelical Christian by the love I had shown her. She is still a Christian but I have moved on. What an irony that is to me. Of course I love her as always but now, my beliefs can offend her. Any comments? How would you handle this situation?

Iv'e heard the arguement all too many times that God is not real. People feel he isn't real for many strange reasons that always baffle me. Reasons like you:can't touch him, see him, feel him , hear him. All of these reason are based on tangibles. Think about this, without air we cannot sustain life, however we can't see, touch, smell, taste, or feel it. Does this make it any less real, or any less important to our survival. Just something to think about. Life as we know it is based on an "intangible". Is it that hard to believe that life was created by a "temporary intangible"?

Someone told me that God does not hear the prayers of a Christian that has sin in their life. How can this be? The Bible clearly states that no man is perfect and that we're all sinners and if we ask God to forgive us of our sins He will. I take this person's comment as: since we sin, God turns his back on his and refuses to hear and answer our prayers. This person said there is a scripture in the Bible that says this but failed to give the scripture.
Serious replies only please!

Think about a sample of population. There are persons that don´t have an ounce of evil in their bones and there are others that have hurt but have repented. Others still heve a violent temperament but are basically devoted to God, and others that suffer from some mental pathology but are basically good. The bible says that anyone who repents and recognizes Jesus as the Savior will go to Heaven. My point is, even forgiven, some people won´t just become lambs on a dime. Does the mere fact of going to Paradise makes people good? Then what is the point of being here and go through all the tests? Does a confession stop an adulterer from chasing the other sex around? Does it make a burglar stop robbing? Then why would it be different when your sins are forgiven and you start all over again? I think that a conscience going to Heaven will act according to its frame of reference, which drives it to act in a certain way in certain circumstances. If it doesn´t, then it´s not the same soul, is it?

Science is based on things that can be observed and also repeated. So how can this be established as scientific fact. I know about dinosaur bones, and skeletons found, and fossils. Animals of all kinds go extinct all the time. Evolution has never been witnessed, and we weren't around ourselves 10 million years ago to see this happen. Does any one ever think that we are all socialized in public school systems, to think a certain way? Even our history of wars have more sides to it, than we have ever been taught.

And Humans share 98.5% of our DNA with Chimps, and we can even share some of the same sequences with bacteria, doesn't that mean the evolution is correct. Or does that mean the "God" is just something that is good at putting pieces together like legos?

The unveiling of this information took place in the year 1400 AH, 309 years before the prophesied end of the world (1709-1400 = 309). The number 309 is a Quranic number (18:25), and is connected with the end of the world (18:21). The peculiar way of writing 309 in 18:25, "Three hundred years, increased by nine", indicates that the 309 are lunar years. The difference between 300 solar years and 300 lunar years is 9 years.

The year of this discovery, 1400 AH, coincided with 1980 AD, and 1980 plus 300 solar years is 2280, also a multiple of 19, (19 x 120). Thus the world ends in 1710 AH, (19 x 90), which coincides with 2280 AD, 19x120.
