well thats why the christians created repentance. see you can go and kill in the name of your god all you want, do bad things, steal, torture, do whatever ...then on your deathbed all you have to do is repent and your slate is wiped clean. voila! free pass to heaven.
amusingly and interestingly according to the bible the ONLY unforgiveable sin is to deny the holy spirit. when you think about it even that statement is pretty vague.

You said "kill lots of people but become Christian and gain forgiveness at the end of our lives".
First, if the killings were murders and we were not sincerely repentent for our sins, then not even a murdering Christian gets to heaven because a true Christian will not murder. You cannot call yourself a Christian and a murder at the same time. If the Christian had to take life out of self-defense, that's different.
Second, an atheist who never kills but denies God is like a person trying to slip under the rope without having to pay admittion. It's saying I can do what I want and make my own rules and as long as I don't hurt anyone I should be fine.
God is to be given all of the respect and honor that is duly His because He is the one that gave you life in the first place. To deny His existence is insulting. It's like deciding to enjoy everything He has given us but refusing to acknowledge Him and pay Him the respect for what He has given us.

according to my friend who is hard core christian and thinks a catholic like me needs to be saved, she would go with the killer who then becomes christian, but me, i think God would prefer the atheist way because the atheist knew between right and wrong and I think thats what counts while the killer just entered christianity so he could stop feeling guilty of what he had done

God prefers justice. Is the killing in your question justified killing? The Bible makes a distinction between murder (unjustified killing by an individual) versus warfare (justified killing by government). David was described as "a man after God's own heart," yet he was a man of warfare. In any case, God can be just and even forgive murderers because Jesus paid the penalty for any who chose to receive His gift.

You've got some logic in your thinking. Surely a good atheist is better than a bad Christian. Confession is just man's way to get rid of the feeling of guilt. Some sins live with us for the rest of our lives even if we confess them to the priest.

I don't know. I guess only God can decide that. Either way, a sin is a sin. I guess it depends on if you mean atheist as in someone who just doesn't know God or atheist as someone who denies and blasphemes God. The truth is, we decide for ourselves if we're going to hell or not. God gives us grace and wisdom to choose the right path, but because of our free will, we don't necessarily have to choose that path.

What ever you do or say. You will always have to live with the consequences of your actions. That goes for christian and non christian. God invented cause and effect.

Send a donation to your local church at once! ...Have a cr*p in a bag & send it first class to the local priests. He will thank you for it, mainly because they beleive in sh*t! Then go to confession and tell him it was you! He will forgive you instantly! Then, when you die, the gates of heaven will swing wide open for you! ....You can then try killing other angels so that you can see who will forgive you for that! ... I wonder!
