Science is based on things that can be observed and also repeated. So how can this be established as scientific fact. I know about dinosaur bones, and skeletons found, and fossils. Animals of all kinds go extinct all the time. Evolution has never been witnessed, and we weren't around ourselves 10 million years ago to see this happen. Does any one ever think that we are all socialized in public school systems, to think a certain way? Even our history of wars have more sides to it, than we have ever been taught.

Science shows the complexity of everything, and the more we find out, the more questions we have to answer.
Evolution is also a belief, and if you want evidence of creation, well its everywhere you look. I don't call people who believe in evolution morons, for you in the forums who havent tried to look at things from a differing perspective. I know about DNA, and the other arguements used for evolution, so I'm actually looking to find an answer from someone, with something I actually havent studied.

P.S. There is actually plenty of evidence for the Bible, but you couldn't know that unless youve studied the Bible for yourself.

I also would like some answers to this. If "the survival of the fittest" is so true and proven, why are people sicker then ever, in every aspect, mentally, physically and spiritually. People pass on disorders and disease to there children. There are always new diseases arising and being passed down.

I understand what "survival of the fittest means." I havent been in college for five years with out learning about this. We are living longer for certain reasons. Science finds alot of treatments, but how many millions of people are waiting for a real cure. Alot of people are dieing young, and if you didn't know our country ranks about 23 for developed nations when it comes to quality of life and life span. I know what it means to adapt. People do it all the time.
I really don't see why people get so offensive about people questioning evolution. You would think they were defending an "organized religion."
How many different theories have existed about evolution? I want to go to one place that has some creature in each step of evolution. All the bones of each one. I will not except pictures drawn by artist, showing this process. It is theory right now.
A couple of you say that you have read the Bible, but if you did, I don't see any evidence.

In the end it's all about a choice. You either choose God or you refuse Him. Your answer to that question will color how you answer every other question.

It must seem as if the public school system is just against your faith. But it is not. For one thing, your question makes it plain that you have never made the slightest effort to look for evidence for evolution, probably from fear of what you would find. The evidence for evolution by natural selection is overwhelming, and it comes down to a great deal more than fossilized dinosaurs and whether or not anyone was there at the time. That betrays great ignorance about the nature of science, and you could do yourself a favour by being sufficiently well-informed to counter that accusation more effectively. Really, I wish you knew why I said that. Try to find out about the views you opposed before you speak out. I read the Bible as well as Darwin. It gave me the grounds to make an informed decision.
EDIT
For your questions about "survival of the fittest" - I suggest you ask another question. Unsurprisingly, you misunderstand the word "fittest", and think it means "healthiest, strongest" etc, when in tihs context it means "best adapted". You presumably have some idea of why we live longer today than at any other time in our existence?

What exactly brought you to your conclusion? Isn't religion more of a taught by socialization, something passed down as some inherent truth from parents to children, effectively indoctrinating the future generation to think like the previous? Evolution is characterized by proof, it wouldn't be widely accepted (like gravity) if it were not. Do you read the papers? A new skeleton with ape and human characteristics was found just a few weeks ago, the same kind of semi-evolved human that Lucy was, the skeleton found some 30 years ago in Africa. Evolution has been witnessed, these skeletons tell the story.

No real scientific evidence? Good grief, what planet do you live on? Microevolution has been observed (ever heard of diseases mutating so quickly that they have a hard time finding cures for them? That would be evolution in progress.) and macroevolution has plenty of evidence. Try reading a science textbook to start with. Evolution is an accepted theory in the scientific community, do you really think it would be accepted if there was no scientific evidence?

science has shown that animals evolve. and that man has evolved from a certain point to what we are now.
they have not proven that we came from an animal, but the fact that we were once of sloped brow and bent posture is a simple fact.
i agree that our history of the world is up for question, as the history books are written by the winners of the wars.
i am a Pagan and i believe in many gods. but i also see how evolution could happen.
could evolution not have been gods drawing board to make a human? just to see what type of critter would adapt well to this planet and be able to survive....

Microevolution has already been witnessed, and there is considerable visual evidence for macroevolution.
Say evolution is false is about as intelligent as saying gravity is just a myth.
Face it, God gave us a 'starter set' with creationism, and later he revealed the real truth to us. Do you REALLY think Moses would have been respected if he said, oh.....we magically we born from the monkeys.
God needed science before revealing the truth. And so he waited.
Patience is a virtue!

This may be long, but read it. You will understand why it is so long
I see evidence of evolution everyday. One of the most facinating things I see (and you could too, if you looked hard enough at it) are trees. Its not just humans and animals that evolve. Its every living thing. In my town there is a road that is pretty heavily traveled by both cars and semi-trucks. This is a 4 lane road, not a highway or interstae, just a normal road. In the median of this road are trees which stand roughly between 15-30 feet high. The branches of these trees overhang the road. But if you are following a semi-truck down this road you would notice that where the branches that overhang the road and would normally be low enough for the trucks to hit dont grow. They stop just at the point where the truck would hit them. Before you start thinking that the trucks hit them and break them off, let me tell you something. I have stopped, gotten out and looked at the branches of these trees. They arent broken. They just stop growing before they get to the point where the trucks would hit them and break them. The branches that are higher than the semi-trucks grow over the road just fine. I have seen when some of the older trees in this median have been replaced with younger trees. The younger newer trees are very robust and have a lot of branches everywhere, but as they get bigger they actually stop growing over the road. Just like the trees that have been there for years. If there is a road in your city like this, look at it next time you drive it. Stop. Get out. Look at the branches. they arent cut or broken. They just stopped growing. These trees have adapted to their environment. They actually changed the way they grew to acommodate the space that they have been planted. Thats Evolution. You can see it everyday. Just look for it.

The same reason that people have religion. There is no proof that it's true.
It's all a matter of faith. You tell me I have skin. Okay, I can see it, feel, it, etc. You tell me what a tree is. Okay, same thing.
Then you tell me about cells. Okay, I can't see them without a microscope, but with a microscope- WOW. There they are.
Adn then here's atoms. I can't see atoms. Not even with a microscope (that can be accessed by me, and not the government). I'm putting FAITH into what you're telling me about the atom is true, even though i cannot physially see or feel it.
The same goes for religion. It's all about faith. I'm not religious myself, but I've found that it applies.
And evolution never being witnessed? Sorry, sweetie. But I have a perfect example for you... Look at DOGS. Dogs evolved, and we have physical evidence of that. How else would we get a pug or chihuahua from something as big as a WOLF?

You don't always have to see what you're studying to learn about it, that's the beauty of science. If I see human footprints in some sand, I can reasonably conclude that some human was there recently, without actually having to see that human. I could even get a general idea of their height, and a fairly accurate measure of their weight without ever having to see them. Same with evolution. You don't have to see it happen before your eyes, because you can't, it takes too long. But you can see its results in everything, and you can trace it back.

Actually evolution has been witnessed. There are changes in insects and rats that have been documented. Changes happen over several generations and since these creatures have a short life span, changes can be observed. But you don't want science do you?

There is plenty of evidence to support evolution. Why don't you try familiarizing yourself with science and the scientific method before you go making erroneous claims about them.
