Forgiveness, studied in detail more than churches do, becomes a matrix to navigate with a conclusion. Forgive who? Forgive them. Why? They know not what they do. Them? Male & female created called Adam. How oft? Not 7 times, but 70x7=490 times to each & every one: lots of potential l-o-n-g-suffering (abuse). How many? All men, else you don't forgiven, especially if you've prayed forgive us as we forgive. How many sins? All, else you get turned over to tormentors for being forgiven all debt & not forgiving debt. Debt? If ya breach any law ya become debtor to whole law: die!Forgiveness of blasphemy the Ghost not forgiveable, neither in this world nor the to come. Yet God hath forgiven you for Christ's sake. But God never desired sacrifice for sin, nor ever took pleasure in it; So forgiveness via sacrifice should be rethought: if one died for all then were "all dead". The promise(eternal life) comes after doing the will of God, is not have any sacrifice: not then, now, ever. Conclusion?

For everyone that uses their "crutch" as to say that we were ignorant of the Lords will and word for us in our lives, Jesus gives a strict warning, mind you, for our understanding.
so.......NOW THAT YOU HAVE CHAPTER AND VERSE OF WHERE IN THE BIBLE THIS IS FOUND......THERE IS NO EXCUSE. side note: you are loved greatly, however- the freewill choice is yours.
*all comments welcome.

Are you someone who goes to your Sunday church services every week with pride, praying to the lord and acting like an honorable person but then when no one in your christian setting sees you, do awful things to others such as destroy people on the job through lies and deceit. Or perhaps other horrible acts. Please confess here.

Ok, I am hoping to get some honest answers our of you guys. Please approach this question with the utmost maturity.

Since I am posting this in the "Religious and Spirituality" section, I am looking more for faith based answers, but you may answer upon your own opinion if you have no faith. Thanks!

What is your stace/belief/opinion on pre-marital sex? Did you once believe one way and now that has changed? What changed it? Do you find it as a problem in society, or just a natural "evolution" of thoughts and lieniency?

But they ignor the biblical definition of hating God. To deny He exists is the same as hating Him. Whats so difficult to understand? I thought you atheists were so erudite about such things.

First of all, let me say, I AM NOT ABUSED. I keep hearing sermons about divorce. The preachers all talk about the fornication issue, but never mention abuse. So I've been wondering...I know the Bible says the only excuse for divorce is when one spouse cheats on the other. But what about domestic violence? I can't find anything stating whether or not it's ok to divorce if one spouse is physically abused by the other. It does say the husband should treat the wife as well as he treats himself, but it doesn't say anything about whether she can divorce him if he doesn't. Can anyone give me scripture about this subject?

In an early posting, I was given the best answer by Love Shepard - but with a note stating the following:

"Not at all the best answer, but most misses the point that Christianity is about having an ongoing relationship with Jesus now, rather than some distant threat or promise of a reward."

The initial question was whether or not I would be willing to come to Jesus if the threat of Hell was removed. I responded that, without the threat of Hell, the religion is unnecessary and moot. This response leads me to ask this question:

What exactly is the point of having a relationship with a guy who has been dead for 2000 years? Youve removed the concept of Hell from the equation - so salvation is no longer necesary. You state that the point of Christianity is this relationship, and not a threat or promise of a far off place.
Without this threat of eternal damnation, why should I be concerned having a relationship with Jesus?

who come here just to deride the beliefs of believers rather than learn what and why they believe?

OK, we don't believe in ANY gods. However, we can be just as moral and altruistic as those who believe. Just as some who believe can behave immorally and selfishly.

What most of us feel is that we all have a right to believe what we feel is right and not try to force our beliefs on others.

As a great man once said. " I disagree with your views, but I'll defend with my life your right to express them"

I think who created us from nothing will find it even easier to creat us again. Also, when brofit Muhammed told us about things that will happen (and happened) then he is correct about what will happen next.
He told us about so many things that happened and still to happen before the end of the world such as ; a fire that will happen in madinah (a city in Saudi Arabia) and a volcano errupted after 600 years after his death, and he promised one of his enimies (later becam one of his followers) that he will give him the juilary of persian king if he let the other enimies go back when he run away from Mecca with only one friend, and much more stories in the history of islam that proof that he is correct 100 % in his sayings.

I'm an atheist. If I want to learn about the evolution of the Platypus ( something I know nothing about ) I check what those who study that subject have to say, and tentatively accept it as true without demanding any other proof.

Religious people do the same. They consult books on the subject of God, or ask priests. We are no different in HOW we came to believe as we do , just in WHAT we believe.

We cannot morally force others to our viewpoint. I'll come in here and ask questions about things I want to more about from those who have studied. Let's stop using Yahoo as a soapbox to undermine one another.

I'm asking because of an incident that happened with my grandparents. They are old-fashioned baptists and my grandma always refuses to do laundry and stuff on sundays. I thought the bible said to "remember the lords day and keep it holy" what is so unholy about doing necessary things on the lords day? my grandparents have to move due to health and financial issues and my grandma is the biggest pack rat ever. so my mom has been working day and night to get the house ready. she set up a huge garage sale and put up 80 signs for it. on saturday, my grandma comes out and says the garage sale cannot happen on a sunday. why didnt she say so earlier? i dont know. but she got very uptight and rude about it, which i thought was pretty nasty considering everything my mother was doing for them. is it really so dishonoring to the lord to have a garage sale on a sunday, when it is something that really needs to be done? and isnt being rude and ungrateful just as "bad"? what do you think
