Thank you.
Well said.
I am a Christian soldier and I am one who defends your rights and your life.
Glad to know that there are others who stand with me.
Personally though, I honestly don't believe that those who profess to be athiests on this site that delight in belittling other peoples beliefs are athiests.
They're just mad at God for some reason and they want to lash out at Him like immature children.
If they truely were athiests they wouldn't care if a person were religious or not.
They also wouldn't be coming onto a "RELIGIOUS" (note the emphasis there) site at all but an athiest site.
Religion just wouldn't hold any attraction to them except as an intellectual exercise.
By the way, thank you for being a better mannered person than many here.

Who is letting you down? And do you consider defending your own beliefs as forcing them on others?
When I originally came here, I was only looking for some reason to believe in a god. Any kind of proof that would convince me. Now I've realized that there is none to be found, at least not here. So what's wrong with defending what I believe?

I think both "sides" are guilty. Look how many Christians will insert their "Intelligent Design" argument into questions of anthropology or evolution. Same thing when an atheist responds to a theology question intended for believers.
So atheists that participate in this forum don't let me down anymore than non-atheists who participate in this forum, they both do the same thing. But that's OK, this is a public forum, not a sanctuary for one element or the other. This is a good thing. If anyone is offended by an opposing view, they can simply click "show me another".

Utter nonsense.
Religious beliefs are stupid... and they must be confronted for the sake of humanity. Tolerating those beliefs, and allowing them to fester and spread, like a communicable mental disease, is reprehensible.
As far as I'm concerned everyone has the right to delude themselves in whatever fashion they deem fit, in the privacy of their own minds... but when they are actively spreading delusion, willful ignorance and organized stupidity, I sense that I have a moral duty and ethical responsibility, as a rational human being, to oppose them... they must be stopped.
Sure, they have the right to spread their views... and being in disagreement with them, I have the right to confront those views and expose them for what they are.

1. It's hard to defend atheism when there is a God
2. It's interesting to me that you mention morality. How can there be a moral law without a moral law giver? If you believe that we all have it in ourselves to know right from wrong, but don't believe in God, then how did the first person know right from wrong?

Actually, considering 'theist' is one who believes in a god, and 'a' or 'anti' is Greek for opposing, an atheist is actually one who opposes who believe in god. Your milder view is actually agnostic, not atheist.. And though an agnostic has every right to debunk atheists and theists alike, at least you could get your facts straight.
You are going to think I am a christian, but just because I loathe your stupidity doesn't mean I have to be as daft as you...

This Christian agrees with you, with the exception of your faith (or lack thereof.)
To some people, answering a question about ones faith is tantamount to preaching. The Great Commission in the Book of Matthew is translated as "teach the gospel", rather than "preach the gospel", in most modern translations. I hope that I can learn from you, as well...

Yes, absolutely. One of the problems that I have with religion is that people are so adamant about their beliefs, they'll go to war to defend them. Some atheists are just as beligerent. It is as though they are making a religion out of being an atheist.
Peace.
Oh! Just stop with the thumbs down! I said PEACE

Your comments make no sense whatsoever.
It appears you are claiming atheists should be preaching the gospel and theists should be denying God's existence.
Nonsense.
The prefix "a" does not mean "opposing." The prefix "anti" means opposing. The prefix "a" means "without."
Atheists do not believe in a Supreme Being; theists believe in a Supreme Being; and, agnostics believe in ignorance.
