Haha, thanks for the laugh theta, still dodging the issue I see.

You have done OT III so why lie?

Anway, not all scientologists know about Xenu. Xenu is taught at OT III (OT = Operating Thetan), and the event concerning xenu is also known as the wall of fire. This is a fairly high up level in the Church, and for Scieno's, is steeped in mystery and the promise of ulimate freedom. They are not allowed to talk about it, esp. with other scientologists as Hubbard taught even the knowledge of it could kill or send crazy the unprepared... Yes L R Hubbard was an outright lunatic.

So by the time you get to OT III, you have spent in the region of 200,000 and could easily spend that again. You have also gone through most likely over a decade of mind and social control, whereby your critical thinking skills are eroded, and your ability to make correct judgements plummets, esp. with regard to scientology and LRH.

So is it true? I mean I can say it is, they can say it isn't, but can we prove it? YES I CAN.

Here is the first page in Hubbard's own handwriting. Ha deny that one.

Here is a court trial concerning all the OT materials where the Church confirmed they were correct...
http://www.xs4all.nl/~kspaink/fishman/index2.html

So there now you have the proof...

Not only can you see it in the handwriting, and the court trials, but countless ex-members have also come out and confirmed the story of Xenu and the Body Thetans (sounds like an old 1950's band don't it!).

South Park was accurate in its depiction of Scientology.

Please bear in mind scientology is a dangerous cult, who's members are its victims. They are nice people who want to help, but have been manipulated and tricked into believing in the conman LRH. A short look at his life shows he was just a fraud, but don't go to the Church for his story, he lied constantly about that too.

Scientology is a destructive cult.

Oh and its sounds like sci-fi, because it is. Hubbard was a moderately successful sci-fi writer, and it would seem never stopped writing sci-fi.

"South Park" is a satirical TV cartoon show that seems to specialize in religion bashing and general joking and degrading
of people, for reasons best known to it's creators.
It's only funny when it's not taking the piss out of you personally, or your chosen affiliations.
Personally I think "The Simpson's" is a better satire, but most average American families would be insulted if they thought people "believed" that they were all like the Simpsons.
Here is an accurate description of what Scientology actually is about:
Scientology is an applied religious philosophy. When I say "applied" I mean you actually use it in your life to change or improve existing conditions. This is different from a religious practice. All religions if you learn about them have a basic philosphy, but they also have certain dogma, rituals and observances, and a certain faith or belief is required. There is nothing wrong with this, but Scientology is not that kind of religion. It does not intrude on anyones faiths of beliefs particularly in the area of God , the Supreme Being, or the Infinite. This area is left totally up to the indivdual, which is why you can be a practicing Jew,for example and still use and apply the priniciples of Scientology in your life. It does not conflict. If anything it will enhance your understanding of your chosen religious practice.
You can have no specific religious beliefs and still benefit from using it.
And it is only true for you according to your own observation and experience with it.
It is a non denominational religion . The dictionary definition that applies:
Religion: The spiritual or emotional attitude of one who recognises the existence of superhuman power or powers.

The most basic principle of Scientology is that YOU are your own immortal soul, that this is not a "thing" you HAVE but what YOU actually are.
The whole purpose of Scientology is to increase an individual's understanding and awareness of himself. And thereby his native abilities .
When you do this the sphere and zone of his positive influence increases and moves outward into his life, his family ,his friends, his groups and mankind which he is part of.

How this result is achieved is the "technology" of Scientology, which was developed by L.Ron Hubbard after his extensive research and the discoveries he made, about the human spirit. The basic religious philosophy and knowledge of Scientology is very old, going back 10,000 years at least to the Veda or Vedic Hymns from the East. The developement of the technology is new.
He completed his research before his death in 1986 and left all of his results and copyrights
to the Church of Scientology along with most of his considerable personal estate, when he died.

He published a book in 1951 to communicate the basic principles he discovered called: " Scientology The Fundementals of Thought"
There are currently over 8 million Scientologists in more that 150 countries world wide. However we are a new religion, only 53 years old.
The true story of Scientology as a religion goes like this:
1. A philosopher developes a philosophy about life and death.
2. People find it interesting.
3. People find it works.
4. People pass it along to others.
5. It grows.

Note the absence of stuff about "aliens" or "belief" .
Sorry but there is no Big Secret exposed or otherwise. But I guess that's probably a bit too boring for TV.
This, by the way, is an honest answer from a long time Scientologist. "Serious" is not my style, I tend not to take TV shows like South Park seriously.

Scientologists rankle at any perceived attack against them.

"60 Minutes" once got a torrent of letters about a Scientology piece. The problem? It hadn't even aired before the letters came pouring in

South Park had it right, I looked on Wikipedia after that episode. It is quite shocking the beliefs that they hold!

I don't know if I've ever even seen anyone on this site claim to be a Scientologist... But if they got it fairly right...yikes.

I don't remember what lead me to finding it, but I found a site, and reading various things... its amazing.
I had thought Scientology was merely a rather "eccentric" pseudo-religion... but its kinda scary.
