As a Christian I believe in Jesus as my Lord and Savoir, and the only way to Heaven...Does any other religion believe this? Any info on what the main beliefs are with each/ or any of the named religions would be great!

Was the land given permanently already, and to whom, Moses or Abraham (pbut)? Or is it going to be given to Bene Israel when the Messiah (pbuh) comes back?

Is there anything good Islam has done for this world and why are they so oppressive to women? Are Muslim men so weak and hippocrtical that they can not bear to see a woman dress like a woman? Are they afraid they may get an erection, Allah forbid, and rape someone?

If you think about it, it all makes sense. Remember the case of The Tower of Babel? Maybe God wanted to make a point on modern skyscrapers and so he did so with the Twin Towers so he told the terroist to destroy it. And our towers are much higher than the Tower of Babel! How dare we rebel against god knowing he hated & resented the tower of Babel! Did we not deserve to have our towers torn down?
Genesis 11
2And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
4And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
5And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
6And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

has the religion section here made anyone rethink their faith or lack of faith? i'm curious as i think open discussion, even though it can get heated and fill with silly arguments is a good thing, but i'm wondering if anyone has shut off their browser and reexamined what they believe.

I know that the Muslims may not kill following Koran. But they kill innocent Muslims women and children in market places in Iraq. What excuse do they find in Koran to say that they are martyrs and will go the heaven ?
(I thought that pretending to know Allahs thought was already an insult to Allah).

As a Christian, I'm pretty sure that they will end up in hell with the Sjeitan providing some very ugly and old virgins (or mother-in-law).

To simplify my questions I only asked how these terrorist justifiy the killing of Muslim women and children by exploding in market places.
(I do not ask about westerners or policemen because they will use the excuse that these are the ennemy or collaborators).

What exactly is a devil's advocate? Not the one that helps the devil. The one in the movie, the one on this site (devlsadvoct)...he claims it's not a devil helper. OK so what is it??

Quote from Sir Alex Fraser Tytler (1742-1813) Scottish jurist and historian

"The average age of the world's great civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence:

from bondage to spiritual faith;
from spiritual faith to great courage;
from courage to liberty;
from liberty to abundance;
from abundance to selfishness;
from selfishness to complacency;
from complacency to apathy;
from apathy to dependency;
from dependency back again to bondage.”

I put this in this section since spiritual faith is a key part of the process.

Why does the KJV have more statements/words than other Protestant Bibles?

Compare 1 John 5:7 in the NIV and the KJV and you will see that they don't match.

Here is the online comparison:
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20john%205:7;&version=31;9;

Compare the KJV with the Greek text and you will see that the KJV has more words than the Greek text.

So why does the KJV have additional words??

Pretty much all Christians would rather go to Heaven even if their family was burning in Hell...what does that say? You guys have no sense of character just like Abraham.

Uncomplimentary comments are made every day about Catholics, Christians and Jews, but they don't go out and bomb, kill and injure those affiliated with the comments. However, the Muslims seem to always react in a violent manner at even the most casual comments about their religion, which I believe only proves the Pope was truthful in his statement. What do you think?

He made animal sacrifices for all of his children on an alter for God to watch over his kids. The devil was forbidded to come near his children because God would not let him. In these times we can't do that but we can place our hands on our children and pray for them. would you do that for your kids?

I am looking for someone to let me know how could prophet Muhammed make his living after his migrating to Medina. I know that he was a trader before his marriage and then he married a wealthy woman. My question is about after his marriage. Did he continue working after his marriage? and also after his migrating to Medina? Is it true that after his migration he made his living ONLY from the lootings he got during his wars?

Terrorism is derived from terror. Terror means to frighten. All the religions frighten the people from the fire of the hell and then ask the people to follow that religion, if they want to save them from the fire of the hell. Does this not mean that all the religions are terrorism? (Terrorists also frighten the people and then want them to do what they like)

Why do you Muslim people assume that having fun and expressing joy or celebration through dancing is like being a prostitute? This makes no sense, and I really would like to know where you get these notions from. I like to dance, matter of fact, I went out dancing last night with my friends. I accepted no money for sex, and my husband was at home with the kids while I enjoyed a night out. Am I a prostitute now according to Islam? Well, I'm one broke hoe, I didn't get any johns or any cash last night. Just a hangover and sore feet from dancing and drinking with my girls.

I think of Galileo, Darwin, and Hume who were sort persecuted for their beliefs and discoveries. The Catholic Church ravaged anyone that got in the way of it's doctrines. Come brillant minds never came to the front with their findings because it contradicted some of the beliefs of the bible.

Bush comes to mind when I think of modern hindrances by religious zealots; his stand on stem cell research is not exactly pro-research. Stem cells could be one of the greatest advancements in history if only there were enough scientists and funding behind it. Only the die hard Christians are against it and most don't even understand it. We need to have a separation from Church and State, obviously this hasn't really happened yet.
