I always re-examine what I believe anyway, but the Christian fundis are making me re-think if I want to call myself Christian. Seriously, I don't want to be associated with them.

Are all non-Christians atheists? I had no thought. would not go away lots room for Muslims, Hindus, wiccans, or every physique else with a perception device that's "different than" Christianity. "Non-atheists" might conceal the comparable super team, i might think of, consisting of Christians yet additionally others. Non-Christian often means in simple terms that -- and of path an atheist may well be interior the gang, too, yet I doubt that that's a intentionally disparaging term. greater possibly, that's in simple terms yet another sweeping generalization and we've lots of them right here. I do attempt to examine with atheists as atheists, while suitable, and for the record i've got not got a subject with them -- right here, or in actual existence.

As an atheist it has reinforced my position when I read some of the silly dogmatic faith based arguments of the fundamentally deluded...christian, jew, muslim or hindu. And the almost palpable HATE from these people who claim their god is one of love and peace....the complete intolerance to even consider other points of view, the inability to have a rational logical argument without falling back to their particular bronze-age collection of fairy tales to "prove" any point.
It is very sad how widespread the virus of faith has infected people.
We live in a world where people who believe in sky pixies and engage in magical thinking have control over weapons of mass destruction, and humanity can no longer afford the luxury of allowing such false beliefs....whether from the head of state of Iran or the USA

Not from the religious, but a lot of questions asked from the atheists and agnostics have made me think and learn a lot. They seem to have the most profound questions. Also, Debra M has made me admire her a lot. But I am also saddened by the amount of religious that think it's o.k. to be ignorant and the fundies are just insane!

I examine and re-examine what I believe every day. But the questions and answers in this section do keep my gears lubed and give me pause at times. So far, I still believe what I believe, though.

To be honest, I was leery of posting here and reading all the diatribe on religion. But, I have been pleasantly surprised that it has strengthened what I believe. The more it is attacked, and I find myself defending....it makes me stronger.

Not really, though I have discovered some more arguments for atheism that I agree with. I don't think being an atheist was something I chose, so it isn't really something I can "un-choose".

It's made me really, really grieve about the amount of fundamentalism out there - of every kind. I knew that it existed in principle, but to see it flashed so quickly and certainly and so judgementally does bother me.
Don't know whether that was what you meant, but them's me sentiments.

I was just telling my friend about it, yes it did. I don't consider myself religious, but answering some questions and reading about other religions strengthened my belief.
