So Eloheim can mean generally two things (as far as the bible is concerned):
1. Supreme God
2. Being the Plural of El (meaning more than one god)

Do both these not conotate many Gods? "Supreme" makes the assumption that he is better than others.

supreme - of authority or an office, or someone holding it superior to all others.

Modern Protestant and Evangelical Christianity hold to the idea that Jesus IS God in the Flesh. Thus "Out of the flesh" Jesus would be god... Singular, Jesus being somewhat his earthly title.

So when the bible speaks of other Gods, Who is it refering to?

My husband worked w/ guy @ wal-mart (and yes I know him too) who felt a call to whitness to bikers. H steped out on faith and quit his job. He used his profit sharing to buy a fixer motercycle, and spent his spair time to fix it. He knew though that it was not the best bike to have in his indevor. He went to a bike rally one day to witness. At the rally was a charitable drawing for a fire fighter theamed bike (OCC but i'm not +) Anyway he felt god touch his heart, he thought for the charity. He used his last $20.00 to enter the drawing. And he WON THE BIKE!!!!! He was going to traid it b/c how lame to ride it not being a fireman. Then every conversation started to start like theis.
"hey man cool bike are you a fireman?"
"no"
"then why do you have that bike?"
"well let me just tell you."
God had rewarded his faith and opened the door to witnessing.
How can anyone not believe? This was no chance. It was to on the button. This is not made up I saw it with my own eyes.

where do you Christians get your information that church is a neceessity? in the bible it says fellowship with christians, not the act of attending church. (you can have fellowship in small groups, for example there are youth groups that meet away from church). Christ even preached against the churches, called them corrupt. the sabbath day is nothing more then a symbol of your willingness to set aside time for christ. (fyi, sabbath day would technically be saturday as that is the last day of our week. however God didnt create everything in 6 "days" these were just periods of time. cause how could you measure the first day when the earth wasnt even made? a day is the earths rotation on its axis. perhaps you guys need to read the Bible more and stop spoonfeeding this false information to people

"Sura 9:5: And when the forbidden months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever you find them and take them captive, and beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they repent and observe Prayer and pay the Zakaat, then leave their way free. Surely, Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful. " Is anyone Familar with the verse of the Quran?

In philosophical conversations with religious people, I've heard several say that they know their beleifs are true through faith. But I see knowledge and faith as incompatible concepts. Isn't faith only neccessary when you cannot obtain knowledge and must predict and make sense of events? And if I know something has happened already, I don't need faith, do I? Could someone enlighten me on the whole knowledge through faith thing. I'm not trying to make fun of anyone's beliefs. I just want to understand.

I'm in my mid 20's and this has gone on for years now. Before I go to bed or during the middle of the night, I see an orange or golden glow shine in the room. No more than a couple days later, someone I know or that I am associated with dies. I have been raised as a Christian and do believe in God, but do not attend church regularly. I've heard of this going on in my family, but not too often. Its hard to talk with anyone about because I either scare people when I tell them or they think its all in my mind. I'm totally competent, a grad student studying psychology, but usually when they talk about a person "seeing things" they are totally incompetent and diagnosised with some sort of psychotic illness. Hopefully someone more religious can help me out!
Thanks.

He is now growling and shooting boiling hot blood out of his eyes, and just humped the cat. Should I keep saying "the power of Christ compells you!" louder? I also wasn't able to get holy water so I used wine vinegar, is this ok?

How can Islam justify itself as a peaceful religion? How can it show that it is does not spread Islam with violence?
When Westerners or non-Muslims destroy a building killing Muslims, then Muslims all over the world get outraged. However, when radical Muslims destroy a building killing Muslims and non-Muslims, there is not one protest or word against it -only exception: if CNN or Foxnews decides to air a member of the Islamic community. On-air in front of millions of people OF COURSE they wont admit that Islam isn't peaceful. Were there any protests from the Islamic community condemning the occurance of 19 radical Muslims destroying 2 buildings killing almost 3000 non-Muslims AS WELL as Muslims?
If Muslims are apparently allowed to kill infidels, then they are assumingly allowed to lie to them also, no? Are the allowed to lie to non-Muslim people and governments by claiming that Islam is a peaceful religion?
