Since Bush declared a Crusade war 5 years ago and no month passes by without a physical or a verbal attacks on Islam and Muslims. Yes the terrorists who committed 9/11,7/7 and Madrid were Muslims, but most Muslims were against what happened. We never hear any Muslim scholar insulting Christianity or Jesus. What the Pope said this week has created anger throughout the Muslim world. The worry is what he said might trigger more violence from extreemists and the western media will find more materials to attack Muslims. When UK occupied half the world no body said that Christians were terrorists, USA and Israel are commiting war crimes in Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon and no one said anything about Christianity or Judism. Why the western media when they talk about violence in the middle east or any Muslim country they link it to the religion? Do you think that what he said and its time was necessary at all?

If Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe in the existance of hell then why do they knock on our doors recruiting members? I thought their goal was atleast to try to save people from damnation, but now I guess it's all about the numbers!
PS:
This assumption is in response to Rachel's earlier answer to the "committing suicide & hell" question:
... Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe in the existance of hell, we do not believe a Loving Father would condemn his creatures to such a place, especially if the sin the commited was due to a mental illness. If you are having suicidal thoughts please seek help, from a qualified source.

There are parents that have lost their children to death, pure agony, all they have left is thinking their child is in heaven, and others who have lost loved ones.A drug addict God is their only hope. The people that lived through 9/11 and H/katrina you tell them their is no one to pray to.People who give their own lives to save another, men who put their lives In the line of battle for me and you.It is the believers in the world that give to one another, the God that is within us,Hope, grace, wisdom, compassion, Joy,forgiveness, peace, serenity, eternal life.Even if you don't believe, just STOP IT PLEASE,and keep it to yourself.Believing is enough, true or not true why would anybody want to take a persons belief away from them that means so much to a person.P.S god has a way of making a believer out of some,I hope you have a believer at your side.to help you out.

Since science can prove the existence of Homo rudolfensis and Homo habilis. Fossils that have been dating about 2.4-1.9 million years ago, while the more common habilis remains are around 2.0-1.5 million years old. And God created man in his own image. Does that mean God drags his knuckles?

I mean why incur such huge expense if you don't expect a large number of people to come to pay respects. I would like to hear views of others. I ask this since our home is where we enjoyed some of our best and worst times.

Is that infallible logic?

I am curious I have read a few articles and some postings about Messanic Jews. I would like to get a more human perspective on it. Is anyone here a Messanic Jew? What are your beliefs? Has anyone here converted from Judaism to Messanic Jew? Has anyone here coverted from Christianity to Messanic Jew? To those who have converted:Why did you convert? What attracted you to Messanic Jew teachings?

Thank you.

Anyways, the only thing I think is real is my knowledge, but knowledge isn't really real or my experiences, but how do you describe them to others

But this knowledge I have has made me feel comfort but still looking for new knowledge.

I do however, see that I can create the heaven I think I will go to right here and now, and it may seem spiritual but it can also be called goal setting, or determination.

The idea that I can live in a environment of fantasy holds true when I daydream, as with Descartes saying, "I think..Therefore I am." I feel I exist in that focused awareness.

But as for the idea of god or many gods, the myth seems powerful and can change lives but why the myth was written is what amazes me. To put a story behind everything makes things so much more exciting and gives you more to think about and for that I'm grateful, for I feel the more I know, the more I can see, and my world is bigger, But, it doesn't solve the mysteries I still want to know, so .....

Since we are created in our Creator's image, aren't reason and rationality truly virtues?

Certainly being illogical and gullible are not virtues, nor is blind faith. In proverbs are the words, "Get wisdom, for wisdom is the principle thing".

Faith based on reason is a virtue, for no other reason that you have decided and know why you believe.

How can you think that something is truth one day and lies the next if there has been no change in it? Since the Bible has not changed (not talking about different versions), what about you changed to cause you to reject it? When you were a believer did you study the Bible, or was your belief based on tradition?

I ask this because people say they believed until they read the Bible. If you didn’t know God’s Word while you were a believer, what exactly where you believing in??

As you are all well aware, there are often some absolutely terrible things said about Jesus and God on this site by atheist. Do you ever feel, even for a second, like...gosh, I probably shouldn't have said that? As an example the guy who is always talking about Jesus' penis and sexuality...or the guy who just called God a fairy tale? Or a bit ago the person who said Jesus's mother mary was a whore...So you can just say these things with a clean guilt free concience?

Or is that an unselfish prayer? I mean, if I prayed that all the hungry could be fed, that would make me happy too. But in the end, it's mostly for someone else, right?
