Or is that an unselfish prayer? I mean, if I prayed that all the hungry could be fed, that would make me happy too. But in the end, it's mostly for someone else, right?

some argue that altruism does not even exist b/c every time we do something good for others it is also somehow gratifying to us as well. however, i believe it is possible to care about someone enough to with them good things without any consideration of how it will effect you. The fact that you want your girlfriend to be satisfied is not selfish under my definition. Had you prayed that you would be satisfied by your girlfriend that would be selfish, but instead you asked for her satisfaction.
another point, being selfish isn't necessarily a bad thing. it's okay, and even good to want good things to happen to you. it would technically be selfish for you to pray that you have a happy life, but it would not be wrong.
just becuase you do ask or pray for something that is selfish, doesn't necessarily make it bad or wrong

Instead of praying about it, why not ask her what it takes to make her satisfied? Wouldn't that be easier, and a hell of a lot more likely to get results?

it is not selfish. you can pray for anything that will make you happy!!! God wants all His children to be happy. you can even pray for money.
