As you are all well aware, there are often some absolutely terrible things said about Jesus and God on this site by atheist. Do you ever feel, even for a second, like...gosh, I probably shouldn't have said that? As an example the guy who is always talking about Jesus' penis and sexuality...or the guy who just called God a fairy tale? Or a bit ago the person who said Jesus's mother mary was a whore...So you can just say these things with a clean guilt free concience?

Let's see...no god. No remorse.

There's nothing wrong with saying God is a fairy tale. Many people don't believe in God. As for feeling guilty over what other people said...of course not. Do you feel guilty when other Christians tell me I am going to burn in hell forever for being a godless atheist? Do you feel guilty because a Christian told me that AIDS is God's judgment on gay people and all the innocent people who died from it are being punished for letting homosexuals live?
Everyone is responsible for their own actions and words. Just because someone claims the same beliefs that I hold doesn't make me responsible for them.
Besides, I think God can handle himself, don't you? If he's really pissed that Mary was called a whore (hardly the first time, by the way, the Protestants did it all the time when they split from Catholicism), I think he can take care of it himself.

Personally, I've never said anything that disrespectful, other than to quote a punk band called CRASS ("Jesus died for his own sins, not mine").

I do say jesus and god is a fairytale. It's my opinion and I'm not remorseful at all about it. In fact, I hope it makes some of you think enough to go out and either question it or study it from a secular point of view.

My view is that jeezus freaks are so smug about their beliefs that they won't even consider other points of view.

Here's a shot in the dark - maybe they're too afraid to question their beliefs. What happens when the shaky cloud they're standing on suddenly goes POOF? What will they stand on then? (This is much more of a valid assertion than those who say we atheists believe deep down that god actually exists).

I have never read a terrible thing written about God - I have read harsh things by Athesits that are retaliating to people that harass them

And if it came to it - yes I could say those things with a guilt free concience BECAUSE HE IS A FAIRY TALE

Man, Jesus' penis must have been tiny! Maybe he was gay too - he hung around all those guys all the time!

Boy, that story about god sure is a fairytale. I like how people talk about him just before they go to sleep - just like every other fairytale!

Man, Mother Mary must have been a whore - I mean, she WAS going to be stoned to death if she didn't make up the virgin birth story.

... Hrrmm. Since I don't believe in any of those things -- yep. I sure can say it with a guilt-free conscience.

Hmmmm...nope, although I don't start those kinds of threads, I don't see why people who do should feel guilty.

I've said that I believe that if biblegod were real that he is the most evil, vile and dispicable being to exist and therefore not worthy of worship though...I don't feel the tiniest bit of remorse or guilt for standing by that.

Unless they enjoyed suffering, I don't see why atheists should feel even a tiny bit remorseful about this.

But telling terrible things about believers themselves, that's another story. I think they could feel a tiny bit remoreseful sometimes, indeed.

Same for believers who say terrible things about unbelievers.

Although I haven't said these things, I believe it's because the seriousness with which many followers act, is so outrageous (I don't think I need to list the wars that have been caused by religious beliefs), that the only way to get people's attention is to be equally appalling, at least verbally.

Sometimes I do feel guilty, because sometimes I say mean things about believers out of frustration, but God is a fairly tale, and it's important that someone says it! God is no more real than Ra or Thor or Pinnochio.

Atheist, you willl regret it one day the choice you made to reject Gods plan of salvation.
I pity you all.
It's all a big joke to you now, who or what do you turn to when life gets too heavy for you?
Know this, God loves you no matter what. He's will continue to try to reach out to you for awhile then he'll let you go. It's called free wil and it's your choice.

Well, god is a fairy tale. I don't see that as being a terrible thing to say.

But being purposely disrespectful is not nice, no. I don't think anyone should say purposely harmful things, that are only meant to make people angry.
