I am a Christian. However I love literature, and the greeks have always had excellent writings. If you believe in them, that is your belief. My obligation to you as a Christian is to tell you that the Bible states "Thou shall have no other gods before me."
Now that my job is done, remember as a Christian we are not senseless. We are not extremist either. We simply want everyone to accept God as their saviour. Having many other gods is a slap in the face to the real one. This does not mean you cannot appreciate good literature! I love greek mythology...the key word there is MYTHOLOGY.
Good luck..

Don't know about the nice Christians. I respect your right to believe in anything you wish, with one caveat, you don't try to force your views on anyone else. Unfortunately, for the world, most fundies, that includes any and all religious fundies, do just that. I am not interested in hearing their ridiculous views about God, I am perfectly able to read their books and make up my own mind. I don't need some priest, preacher, evangelist, born again, rabbi, mullah, shaman or any other so called, holly man or women telling me how to think.
May the gods of Olympus be with you.

It is your right to believe as you wish. You can believe in a cat's meow too. But that won't get you where you want to be in the hereafter. I do respect others religion. Here is being said that Christians say this and than, but it is the words of God, not us. We are just repeating what God said to the people who wrote the Bible, and laid the laws of man down onto paper.

Of course there are nice Christians who will respect that. As a Christian, I do my utmost to respect everybody as a human being. I may completely disagree with you and think that such a belief is denigrating to my God, but I respect you and would fight for your freedom to hold such beliefs.
And this is said by a Christian that many would consider a "Fundie."

No. I don't think so. From what I've read on this site, they think the ancient Gods are the product of Satan. Weird thinking actually. The ancient Gods predate Jesus and Satan so how could Satan create them? Weird, odd and delusional in my humble opinion.
I'm with you on this, by the way. I'd much rather go to the "source" of religion, the Old Religion than try to get my head around the machinations of what came afterwords.

Christians don't respect anyone who's beliefs are different from theirs.
By the way, I think its really neat to hear someone believes in one of the old religions. Very unique.

well, I'm a Christian, but I won't bash you for your beliefs, even though i disagree with them. And I honestly didn't know that people still believed in Greek gods.

I can respect your choice to believe in them...
...but I am curious about something... my memory fails me... are the Greek's beliefs akin to the Roman ones, that they might give honor to any gods they fail to recognize? A sort of, "praise to the unknown god", if you will...?
