I am curious I have read a few articles and some postings about Messanic Jews. I would like to get a more human perspective on it. Is anyone here a Messanic Jew? What are your beliefs? Has anyone here converted from Judaism to Messanic Jew? Has anyone here coverted from Christianity to Messanic Jew? To those who have converted:Why did you convert? What attracted you to Messanic Jew teachings?

Thank you.

I think I need to clarify my question. I know who a messanic jew is in the strict sense of the term. What I want to know what it means on a personal level.
I know that Messanic jews are not considered jews by [some] Jewish people, who like the majority of the word call them Christians.
I also want to know is why any jewish person converted to it, if there was another reason apart from their belief that Christ was the Messiah.
In additon I would like to find out if anyone converted from manstream christianity to be a Messanic Jew.

A good place to start is to look at the first Messianic Jews, they were in the new testament, they had completely put thier faith in Christ but still visited the synagogue and followed many Biblical festivals and observations from the old testament (not necessarily following the letter of the law). That holds for many of today's messianic Jews. The value is in that many of those festivals still point to Jesus and glorify him because that is the reason for the existence of them.

I think that Jews believe that Jesus must still come, as opposed to Christians who believe Jesus has already been here and died for our sins.. Messanic Jews are Jews who converted to Christianity.
