Years ago I went to a church where everyone was happy and the doctrine that was taught if you ask for Gods protection no harm will come to you. I also was taught both directly and indirectly that if I do everything right, read my Bible, Pray, save myself for marraige I would be blessed. I am blessed because God loves me but I have gone through some firey trials over the years and as a result I have had to reevaluate my realtionship with God, I have learned the hard way there are no quarentees and bad things do happen to good people.

My question is how can I start to change and be realistic about God and faith and How can I renew my mind from the false hopes and prentesnes that I was taught?

That means that when you die you come back to this earth as something else? Like maybe an animal? cow?
If you do are you a vegetarian?
I mean aren't you afraid you will eat your grandma?

Obviously this can't be done,

but let's be realistic and say we as human beings study different species's DNA from the past, and we are able to determine that for example Australopithecus shares much of the same DNA that exists in humans, but that it can't mate with a homo sapiens.

So we find a 2million year old Australopithecus and we dig up its body and we do a DNA analysis, and find it has 99% of the DNA as a homo sapien in modern times.

Is this the breakthrough missing link of Evolution?

I'm just curious, what qualifies as a Missing Link or the proof of Evolution,

what cracks this baby open and makes it scientific law?

Does the genetic evolution of other species not count? Like Barnacles?

And a pre-emptive strike doctrine, don't give me that bs about 2nd law of thermodynamics, universe is not in equilibrium so, STFU about 2nd law of thermodynamics thats bogus science and you all know it.

"this is my son the beloved whom I have approved"
Okay people its alittle obvious they are seperate.
They are not the same person.
Jesus was not crazy and yes he did give us an example but not by talking to himself/praying he always prayed to his father Jehovah God. - This sounds right to me and logical.

1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

So before Jesus will come again, there is to be a falling away, (an apostacy?) when is this supposed to take place, or has it already?
and does ACTS chp. 3:21 have anything to do with it???

Subject: Re: Heaven

Message: You need to get your history straight. I don't care about what you think of Constantine or translation. I did what the Lord commanded in the Great Commision and I told you about Jesus. You can hide behind your little translation theory, but someday you will stand before the Lord whether you wanna beleive your story or not. I'm not going to argue. I want you to go to heaven for your sake, but you know what. I'm not going to lose sleep over your decision. I know you think you're pretty smart and have it "all figured out" and I'm just a pesky Christian who is to weak to see straight. I'm glad you got it all together because you will need it when you choose.

Yeah, you choose whether you want to or not. You choose Jesus Christ or you choose the alternate. Don't beleive in hell? Too bad. Doesn't mean it ain't there!

It is said the hinduism worships 330 million Gods. God can be a man or a women. In Louisanna they have marta gras where the floats represent some of these gods. from the Ganesa, elephant god to the Vishnu lady god. They still exist today and they were recorded in the bible as being worshiped in the time of Christ.
All have a flood story. Does anyone out there worship these gods today? Are any of you Hinduism and who and what do you worship?

nobody has ever pinned down any real evidence for Jesus he appears to be a character in a book only, there is a mountain of evidence on the other hand for evolution but Christians make much of the missing link that proves man and apes are descended from a common ancestor...whose missing person will turn up eventually and whose won't do you think?

I enjoy this section and debating religious views, but when you make a statement please reference in the bible or a website that supports your claim. So many times, people will submit unsubstantiated claims of understanding "gods laws", but in doing my own research they usually turn out to be nothing that is stated in fact or their dogma's written material. Bottom line is that the Bible is chocked full of attrocities and contradictions.

You see what I just did. I made a claim and substanitated it!

If you want to debate the opposition REFERENCE SOMETHING. But wait, that would require knowing something about the book that you claim to base your exsitance on. That may be too much to ask. If spewing unsubstantiated claims was the way to get questions answered, I could convince you that I have a unicorn in my garage.

Are the word "god" and the phrase "the laws of physics" simply two different ways to say the same thing?
At the most fundamental level, con can be described as an undetectable being or force that controls and moves everything in the universe, down to the last atom. He / she / it is beyond human comprehension.
The laws of physics explain different abstract forces and "rules" that govern the motion of everything in the universe, down to the last atom. We still cannot fill in all the blanks in our current understanding of physics.
The only difference between the two, at this most fundamental level, is that god is possessed of a mind, while the the laws of physics simply state that these forces exist.

Is it so difficult for people to accept that both explanations might be correct? Is it so hard to reconcile a belief in god with a belief in science?

Some facts found: The capital of Israel, in the east-central part of the country in the West Bank. Of immense religious and historical importance, the city was occupied as far back as the fourth millennium B.C. and became the capital of King David c. 1000 B.C. Destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar II in the sixth century B.C., it was later ruled by Greeks, Romans, Persians, Arabs, Crusaders, and Turks and by Great Britain under a League of Nations mandate. Israeli forces took control of the city in 1967. Jerusalem is considered a holy city to Jews, Muslims, and Christians.

Some one enlighten me regarding the Holy Land in Jerusalem..who's taking control now? who should be the rightful one?

The building itself is not necessarily the Church but a place of meeting for the church community. My question is a little deeper. We have a small church community (it appears our branches have been pruned alot). What once was a congregation of 100s is now a group of about 50. The message is good and founded in the Word and taken in context.

Are there that many people who dislike the truth so much that they are more willing to walk away than stay and face the truth? I know I sin but I need the Word and all the interpretation I can get. I am not all knowing and understanding.

I want our church to be not only a place to worship but also have the ability to reach out. Our pastors have not been paid for several months because of low attendance and tithes. We all give money, food, etc. to our pastors because we believe in the Word they share.

I want to help them help others but we are pretty close to having to shut our doors and meet in private homes or garages. HELP

Who are they? Are you one of them? Do your contributions make other peoples lives better? Why could this be spiritual?

As the daytime is stirring
Where the speechless unite
In a silent accord
Using words you will find are strange
And mesmerised as they light the flame
Feel the new wind of change

I know you all are going to say this belongs in the science section, but to me it takes more faith than anything to believe we evolved from apes. Here's my question though: Why do people even believe evolution? I mean it says that some animals lost parts of their hearts and evolved into other things. You mean to tell me that that animal SURVIVED while it lost part of it's heart? That's crazy. Why do people believe that?

Can you answer this question using only biblical scripture?

For example:

Baptism is for........(bk., chap., text from the verse)
or
Baptism is........(bk., chap., text from the verse)

There are several different references to baptisms in the New Testament. However, I'm looking for references to "water baptism"

I'm interested to see what the bible says about "water baptism". I hope you help me with this excercise, and I hope it helps you. I know some people won't want to do this. And that's OK. I understand. Thanks in advance to those that answer for me.

If Jesus came down to earth and told everyone that mormonism was the correct religion, would you admit your wrongs and follow their ways? Or think it was the act of satan... then you'd really be in trouble.
