I was raised Christian and always read the Bible and believed it. Well, mostly because I believe in evolution and don't think homosexuality is a sin that sort of thing. But mostly I was a devout Christian.
But I just realized today that the Bible is a two thousand year old translation of an extinct language and we don't have any original copies. I still believe in Jesus and in God but am I supposed to believe that nobody messed with original copies? No 12th century scribes put in their own little stories or cut something out? I haven't gotten any straight answers from anyone at church or Boy Scouts. Nobody around me seems to have thought of this before. I mean, faced with all that how am I supposed to read the Scriptures and accept them as the word of Jesus? I only want to do right by God in my life, and not believing in the Bible is a sin, isn't it?
This is really confusing me right now. What can I do?
