My friend is trying to get me to go to her church and do the things she does and I don't want that to mess up our friendship, what do I do?

Just tell her politely that it doesn't interest you. If she's a good friend she would understand. (lets just hope she hasn't been brainwashed to hate 'un-believers')

God doesn't manipulate or force anyone. His followers shouldn't either. A decision like that has to be your own. If your friend is trying to pull your strings, maybe you need to cut the strings.

That doesn't mean you can't still be her friend or check out the church.

Well I always say things are worth a try. Just let her know that you are uneasy about this but are willing to try it once. Just let her know how you feel about it, and if she is a true friend she will respect you more because of that.

How would going to church mess up your relationship?

you didn't actually say how you felt about it, other than that you did not want to mess up the friendship.

there is nothing wrong in discussing the bible with her - pro and con - and then see what you think after that.

tell her you don't want to go to church and she needs to respect your wishes. if she can't, then you shouldn't want her as a friend. she will always be making you do things that you don't want to do.

Agree to disagree, if your friend cannot accept that, then the friendship is not as strong as it should be.

Tell her the truth. If she does not respect you for who you are then she really is not that great of a friend, is she?

what kind of a friend would put that kind of pressure on you? Tell her to back off and if she doesn't, please know that it's a lack of respect for you and you don't need a friend that doesn't respect you! Best wishes!!
