I've been depressed for practically 2 years, since being in hospital and having an operation. It has come to the point where I'm even thought about suicide, jumping out of the window and ending it all.

Recently, I've just been praying to God that he will clear my mind of these negative thoughts and for some reason I feel better and more positive now. Anyone else prayed and felt better?

It's like when I pray to God, he is lifting me free of these negative thoughts.

My heart went into "cardiac arrest", basically I was dead and had no pulse, was in a coma for a few days, and needed to have an ICD fit in, like a pacemaker but it shocks the heart.

Asking to be cleared of negative thoughts is a great start toward full recovery! I wish you the best in finding your way completely free of depression. A few things to think about: (I was depressed and have completely overcome it)

1) *You* do not get depressed because *you* are not your darkness and fear and suicidal feelings and thoughts. *You* are Light. It's very important to identify as Light (as a child of God) and not as Darkness. Identifying with your suffering and your negative feelings and thoughts is exactly like identifying as the parasite that is using your body as a 'host.' Does that make sense?

2) Remember that the Light which you ARE is focused into the future but the Darkness/parasite that you are NOT is wanting to look behind into the past. The key to not being depressed is to refuse to entertain that parasite (that is NOT you) by allowing yourself to focus on the past. You cannot change what is already done and gone. The past is dead which is why the Light doesn't look there. Darkness is attracted to death. And believe me, the parasite that causes your depression wants to kill you!!! *You* cannot be killed -- only your body can -- but if you agree to identify as the parasite then it *will* find a way to eventually kill you. That is its purpose and its very good at what it does!

If you can actually understand what I just said, lol, then you're ready to be a spiritual warrior against the darkness/parasite that is using you as its host. Choose to only be a host to God/Light by staying in the Now with your focus on building a great future for humanity (where Light always focuses), and refuse to go into the dead past with the parasite that wants to kill you. Let your past die NOW so you can live forever more as your true self; the Light. What do you have to lose?

My mom woke up daily at 4am, having so much time, she prayed. Then she felt relieved for the rest of the day.
She had heart pain and was on prescription ever since my brother committed suicide 3 years ago.

If you feel depressed all the time, do sweating exercises daily, have a bit of sunshine would be better still. More effective, write down 5 things you are grateful in your life. Pin it down in front of your computer screen where you can look at it all the time.

The is nothing more powerful than prayer! Spiritual healing has been documented for centuries! However, getting help from professionals is not so bad either. Maybe you just need someone to talk to or maybe you need medication, as well. There is nothing to be ashamed of if you do. Always pray, but seek outside help. God did create more than one human so we could turn to one another during our loneliest hours!

Over the last five years I had begun to have increasingly withdraw into a downward spiral of depression..

But now with the method I can fully focus my energy and thoughts into a decisive line on how to make my life better constantly. And it works like magic! I'm beginning to attract people to me once again and things have just been looking up since then.

yes, the most recent example is after my mother passed away in December 2005.

Whenever I feel in danger of being overwhelmed by the grief, I pray that God take it away so that I can deal with life. It is only a temporary relief, but it does help me go about my life. And everytime (countless times) that I have prayed about this, I have had immediate relief.

I have also been diagnosed as bi-polar, so I can understand how your depression makes you feel. There are other ways that can help, too. If you want to know what else I have done for help, you can contact me by email.

If that is what works for you then good. I'm glad to hear that you don't think about suicide anymore. Prayer, whether it be to God, Jesus, Budha, Kali, Allah, Thor or whomever can be a powerful thing. It can lift your spirits and clear the burdens of the mind.

Blessed Be

I also suffer from depression and like you I take my cares to God. Stuying His word and learning His promises have given me hope that takes me through the day. Payer is great for placing your burdens upon the Lord, but the study of Gods word allows Him to speak to you personally. Get a good topically study Bible and seek out the food that your spirit needs to grow. It takes commitment, but in that activity you will have success and throught that success you will gain confidence and understanding. Take that and share it with others and your depression will be lifted as your focus shifts from self to serving others.

Are you a Christian? If you are , God hears and answers prayers. You may need to see a physiologist and get medical help. If you don't want to do that, take omega 3 fatty acids and St Johns wart. I wish you the best.
