There is no evidence what so ever that proves a god.
I believe that people back in the days of jesus, were tricked into believing a magical being created earth to have power over them.
The church has had power over people for thousands of years.
I dont believe in god but im scared to commit a bad crime incase there is. (sounds weird i know)

As an educated christian lady i wonder whether taking every word in the Bible literally makes sense? if you read any religious book, bible, koran or torah, there are lots of ideas , practices and customs thats not only stupid but down right cruel too. so why take every word for its literal truth?
why cant we christians just follow the teachings of our lord jesus thats not only humane and wise, but enlightening and liberating too.
am i right?

If repentance requires that you cease the sin, doesn't it require you to cease living in a divorced state and return to your earlier married state of being? Shouldn't you try to convince your ex-spouse to repent and remarry you, too?

It is true that the theory of the existence of god is possible as it can neither be proved or disproved. But at the same time there is no evidence to support it, which makes it highly unlikely.

In fact anyone could come up with an idea that is impossible to disprove but lacked evidence.

Here’s an example:

The universe was created by an evil demon purely for his own sadistic pleasure, and the more good people do in this world the more he makes them suffer in the next. The demon wrote the bible to trick people into doing good deeds in order to make them suffer more.

Now that idea is just as likely to be true as Christianity all though I doubt many people would want to believe it. Of cause you could come up with billions of different explanations for existence if you didn’t have to worry about evidence. This means the odds of Christianity being right are billions to one.

I've been listening to you guys for a while, questions answers etc. There are some attractive christians and non-christians outhere, we all have urges and at times opposites can seem to attract.
I'm a committed christian, not boasting, but i have no T.V., no HiFi, no Radio, no Music, i don't go clubbing, could you live with that?

Could relationship with God throughout history be understood using a developmental model? For example, did God relate to Israel in the Old Testament as a parent would relate to a young child...right and wrong...black and white. And then in New Testament times, did Jesus come to help us learn how to know right and wrong with an emphasis on understanding the meaning behind the law. If so, might it be that we are now adolescents who are given some freedom to explore gray areas, but still expected to maintain curfew and keep communication open? What do you think?

can this story be taken as a literal truth? i dont think so. its known as midrash in judaism to show how sacred human life is and that killing in God's name means denegrating God.
By the way i am a christian, and why dont we use jewish midraism to interpret the bible, instead of taking it literally?

At first I thought it was George W. Bush but he is not smart enough. He is also getting away with many crimes against the Constitution and no one is even trying to impeach him and Cheney. I now think it could be Tony Blair. What do you think.
