Jesus = God right?
God = omnipetant + was there at beginning of time right?

Then what is the sacrifice of jesus dying as it was only a day and no matter the pain as he knew he would be okay in 3 days and would go to heaven.

At the time He was being crucified he was not a diety in form. He had assumed human form to assimilate our sins. The reason for His sacrifice was to give everyone a chance to get to God. Until the moment of his last breath, religious code specified that sin offerings be brought unto the priests at the temple and the blood was supposed to handled in a specific way. There was a veil that separated the area where the priests could go and commune with god and ask for the sacrifice to be accepted for the sins committed. When Jesus took his last breath, the veil was rent in two, thereby signifying that a person no longer had to offer blood sacrifice as Jesus' sacrifice was considered attonement for the sins of all before him and all after him. Instead of going through a priest to speak to GOD we are now allowed to speak to him through Jesus. All of the laws were fulfilled so that in completion, we are not held to abrahaimic laws. The food issue was cleared up , as Jesus had made his sacrifice to make everything unclean, clean. We are still to hold true to the 10 commandments, but the laws of the Jews are not given unto the Gentile. We now find equal favor with God as long as we believe in Jesus and accept the gift he gave us. That is why it is extremely important. Every nuance of what took place was chosen to happen for a reason.Jesus knew this and that is why he was crying in the garden. He did not particularly want to be put through what he knew would be agonizing torture and evntually death, but He knew what he had to do what was given for him to do by the Father. You might try reading Max Lucado's "He Chose The Nails", for further enlightenment. It was a very profound and heart wrenching breakdown of everything that happened once Jesus was given up by Judas.

I hope this is a serious question, because you would really want to get this answer. The importance of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ is that he went through this intolerable pain so that we wouldn't have to and so that we could get to Heaven to see God. Only through Him is this now possible. Also, you can pray directly to God now because of It.

1. It was an example to us. Sacrificing ourselves for the good of others has value. Hopefully we'll never have to endure torture and death. Hopefully we'll only have to give up Saturday mornings feeding the hungry or give up DVD purchases to give to charity.

2. His death paid the ceremonial price for the OT laws. It transformed them into a more moral form and less of a legalistic black and white system.

3. The resurrection proves to us that we too will conquer death.

4. I can't think of a more loving thing for a God that didn't have to do anything for us, to do. He was born in a very un-glorious fashion, lived a common life, and remained incredibly humble. His life remained relatively normal until He started His Father's work, and then He died in the worst way possible for that time. Not what you'd expect from God, which was very meaningful in itself.

Death on cross became null & void when we see him 3rd day - talking to his desciples... asking some thing to eat.. shows his hands as a living flash and bones!
Son of God ??? a funny idea ... may be to put your SINS on the shoulders of innocent Jesus christ and let yourself free for more!!Does this theory has any social value or workable in material world - may be in the Kingdom of heaven(s). God Bless You All.

Jesus is god made man, and as a man he would feel pain, the importance of him dying on the cross for us it that he paid the price for our sins, allowing us to be forgiven.

If Jesus didn't go to the cross we would go straight to hell and the holy spirit would not have come after him. and our sin would not be forgiven their was a perfect Scarface that need to be made that was pure. So that our sins can be cleansed and salvation can come into place because a sinner can not die for a sinner!

John 11:25 (King James Version)
25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Romans 1:3-5 (King James Version)
3Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;

4And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

5By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

1 Corinthians 15:12-14 (King James Version)

12Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

13But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:

14And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

Jesus is not God - he is God's son. The importance of Jesus being crucified is to pay our sin debts!@

Luke 24:44-48
44-And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

45-Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

46-And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

47-And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jarusalem.

48-And ye are witnesses of these things.

So we might have forgiveness of our sins instead of remembering them each year, as was the way it was before Christ died. Without forgiveness we can not enter heaven.

Jesus also = Human, and the passage of the night of prayer in the garden immediately prior to his arrest would indicate that he had some reluctance in the knowledge of his impending suffering.
