I go to a church that meets at 5:30 pm on Sundays. That gives me a reason to stay up really really late on Saturday nights. I don't go to bars and get drunk. I'm just a night person who watches movies late at night.

moses ordered the murder of 3 thousand people (exodus 32:28). Why did he do this when one of the commandments he had just received was "you shall not murder"

couldnt the people have been punished some other way - other than by murdering them? couldnt they have been whipped or tortured?

i can see ur explanation will be that it wasnt murder because god ordered it? My counter argument would be that i could murder someone and claim it wasnt murder as god told me to do it. What right would u have to try me for murder when i was just doing what god told me to do? If god ordered someone to kill in the past - why not now?

It seems very arrogant to just say, "We know God, and we understand how he thinks..." (And by giving God a personality, you ARE saying that.)

I used to be SDA, and the church I was a member of taught that there is 3 separate beings, God the Father, Jesus(aka Archangel Michael) on the right hand of God, and the Holy spirit on the left hand of God.

I have since heard that SDA believe that they are all the same being.

Which is it you believe/believed? SDA/former SDA only please.

I would like to hear your stories, about a time in your life, where God or Jesus or the holy Sprit spoke directly to you or made you feel safe.

I may have been a car wreck or some event that took place. Share your story.

Does anyone know of any good churches in Michigan, that are bible-based, all about discipleship (teaching & training) unto spiritual maturity. A church who teaches more than preaches. A church who brings accountablity and confessions and testimonies. A loving and trustworthy church. I'm looking for a church with younger adults 20s-30s as well and a good amount of men. Do you know of any in Detroit Michigan and the surrounding suburbs. Preferrably a mixed or black church.

Church Basis: Must beleive that Jesus is the way to God. The Son of God, the one who died and rose again for the world's sins. Jesus was 100% God and Man. Once a person is saved, he should be discipled (trained in the things of God) and nursed to maturity through the church and God. Churches mission is to go therefore and make disciples.

I love to read Isaiah, his revalations are so amazing to me. I know that there are many people here that read other than the Christian bible, I would like to know what you read too.

this is it in a nutshell if god is a being of infinite intelligence then when enough of us get into heaven then we will have collective infinite intelligence and when only one more person (or even animal) arrives we will have infinite intelligence +1 collectively and then we will over throw god

but if we all go to hell the same thing will happen and we will over throw Satan and we will make hell into a sinful haven

this theory only applies to one deity religions as multiple gods can't be overthrown

I am sry if this made no sense

If you see any flaws in this idea plz say them

Jesus said that the world wouldn't love him and wouldn't love his followers, so basically he's saying he and his followers will be victims. Christians are taught that the world will hate them.

They believe that figures such as Satan and the Anti-Christ will be popular because their thoughts of moral freedom will appeal to the masses.

So my question is, do Christians like Bush so much because he says he is a Christian and he is unpopular?

For example, I think John was placed in boiling oil, but he survived, and was subsequently imprisoned on the island of Patmos, where he was given the Revelation from God, and penned it in the Book of Revelation.
One of them chose to be crucified upside-down, for he felt unworthy to be crucified as Christ was.
Another was be-headed.
I wish I had names to the events.

We all have limits, and I'm not talking about " I can't fly I can't go back in time".

Example, I can't know where my loved ones are at all times and be there at all times to protect them.
