I was tought there were three beings as well, but my personal belief is that there is God the father and Jesus. The holy spirit isn't really a concrete thing.
SDAs don't tend to all believe the same thing, and I've noticed that over time beliefs change. The church is a bit less legalistic now, I suppose. Too legalistic for me these days... though I feel guilty for saying so.

I used to be a SDA and they believed three in 1. At the time I was a SDA; I really thought this was strange. I did some research and found out that the early English and American Sabbatarians rejected Trinitarianism as the Church of God.
As God (2Tim.1:9)called me out of the SDA to his church(Acts 20:28). I found out why the Trinity--(2John 1:7) didn't make sense to me because it was a unscriptural doctrine that came from paganism. I believe there's only 1 God like the Bible claims and that is God the Father (John 20:17; 1Cor.8:6; 1Tim.2:5 and etc.) and his son Jesus (1Jn.4:15) and the Holy Spirit is a power(Luke 1:35= "And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the "Son of God.") where God and Jesus make their presence known in the hearts and minds of believers(1John 3:24 = "And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us."). The believers of god and Jesus will have this love poured on them (Rom.5:5 = "And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given to us.") It will teach them understanding and wisdom of God's Word (John 14:16,17,20,23,26 = "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. At that day ye shall know that I am in the Father, and ye in me, and I in you. Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.") Jesus had the Holy Spirit in him when he made the lame walk and the deaf to hear and etc.(Luke 5:15-17) God works in our minds to give us stength to overcome (Genesis 6:3 = "And the Lord said, my Spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.") Other texts are: John 7:38-39; Rom.8:11,13-14,16 and Psalm 104:30.

you have some great solutions right here, so i will merely upload a pair of things. a million) Mormons evaluate the "soul" to be the blend of spirit and physique. The spirit does not die, yet is going to the spirit international, or sheol to look ahead to the resurrection. Sheol, which grew to become the angicized "hell" merely ability the grave, or underworld. there will be weeping, wailing, and gnashing of tooth - all reflects of sorrow elementary to a Jewish funeral. that's not the area of eternal torture that maximum Christians espouse, besides the indisputable fact that that's a place of unhappiness. area of Sheol is Paradise, or Abraham's Bosum, the place the righteous shall stay. human beings could have a appropriate reminiscence of all their sins; they're going to remember all the suffering they have inflicted on others. that's not eternal contained in the experience of never-ending... that's going to end while they are resurrected, and their spirits are as quickly as back united with their bodies. that's "eternal" purely contained in the experience that eternal is likely considered one of the names of God; eternal punishment is God's punishment. of direction, their memories and sorrow won't escape their new environment. purely by repentance, and dedication to protecting the commandments, and for the period of the atonement of Christ, can one escape the sorrow that accompanies sin. 2) Outer darkness is merely what it sounds like. that's a place for beings who reject all gentle. i do no longer understand what which would be like, and that i'm hoping in no way to ascertain.
