It seems very arrogant to just say, "We know God, and we understand how he thinks..." (And by giving God a personality, you ARE saying that.)

Absolutely not. What the heck are we TALKING about if this so called "god" is totally undefined? We might as well be talking about "flarf" as it holds the same "meaning" (or rather lackthereof).

Therefore, asking "does god exist" without knowing in the least bit what we're refering to when we say "god" is sort of like asking "What color was last Saturday?"... they are both nonsensical and cannot yeild a meaningful answer.

Going by Christianity and the Bible, I agree with you. If you read the Bible carefully you will find that God is clear on many points and vague on many others.

For example, When Moses led the Isrealites into the dessert God gave hime the 10 Commandments. One of which was 'Thou Shalt have no other god before me.' When the Isrealites started worshipping a golden calf (why is never explained) God punished them severely. However, when the Muslims worship Allah, nothing bad happens to them. Why? I have no idea, I can only surmise. However, I can safely assume that Allah is different in God's eyes than a golden calf. Therefore, I cannot speak for God since I have no idea what's going on in His head.

And therefore, to say you know what God wants and feels is to be arrogant and very un-christian.

it is very arrogant to say that you know how God thinks...
of course, no one does....(otherwise He is not God)

God is indefinable...

but He can be whatever He wants to be in your own life & circumstance... (for He is the Alpha & the Omega)

He is strength for your weakness
He is joy during your sorrow
He is peace during your chaos
He is fullness during your lack
He is that & much more...
He is God (& you are his creation).

God defined Himself when He gave Moses His Name..
"I Am"
God further defined Himself when He came to us in human flesh...to know Jesus is to know God.
Does that mean I think I understand how God thinks? Not at all! But I do know He loves me! What else do I really have to know??

I totally agree - very good point

"The way that can be described
is not the eternal Way.
The name that can be spoken
is not the eternal Name."

'God' does lack definition. No one knows what 'God' is.
