I go to a church that meets at 5:30 pm on Sundays. That gives me a reason to stay up really really late on Saturday nights. I don't go to bars and get drunk. I'm just a night person who watches movies late at night.

It's great that you go to church!
The answer to your question is no. It is not a sin to not go to church on Sunday morning. Jesus never specified any specific time or day when we were to gather together. Actually, whenever you get together with anyone else who believes in Jesus, you are, in effect, having fellowship, ergo church.

It is only a sin if God told you to go to church at that time and you don't.

If you stay up late Saturday night in front of the TV, could that possible be an idol in your life? Or are you watching christian programming?

At night when you are watching TV, does the Holy Spirit convict you & remind you there is a church service in the morning that you should attend?

In your prayer time when you wake up, ask God for daily guidance throughout the day (every day).

It's not a sin to skip out on church, which isn't even what you're doing. The Sabbath is supposed to be a special day where you honor God and basically don't do anything else. Church isn't the most important part of the equation.

hahaha... it's not when you go... or even if you go.

Communing with the Lord is the point. People put so much stock into the church building... and not enough into the actual relationship that they have with Him. It's that relationship that He cares about... not when you talk to Him, or WHERE you talk to Him. A building is a building. A clock is a clock... time matters not to Him because His time line is different from ours.

Put the emphasis where He says it should be... and not where society says it should be.

Some people say that if you miss one Sunday church service you are damned. I don't agree with that.

Go as and when you like. But: after midnight Saturdays, you should drink ONLY sacramental wine that has been blessed. (Even during Prohibition that was allowed.)

No, some of the worst sinners go to church on Sun. and come home and beat their wives, abuse their children, cheat their neighbors and kick the dog. Just be a decent human being.

It's not necessarily a sin, just make sure that you are keeping your Sabbath day holy, as the Bible commands. You should desire to go to church and learn more about God, and if your church is not doing that, consider another alternative. Maybe another church, or your own Bible study at home.

If your keep a day holy and spending time with God and doing the best you can and asking for forgiveness of your sins, I think God is going to ok with your attendence in the evening and not in the morning.
