I think obligation is the wrong word.But from first hand experience I know that when in love you don't care if the whole world knows.I think instead of obligation it's more of a pride thing.(you found your soulmate and are thrilled)I also believe that inherently all people want to spread joy and by letting the world share in your joy you spread the joy around.

Obligated? No.
Should you feel like you would WANT to share that information, if in fact it were true? Absolutely.
Most people miss out on love, so the option to share it never comes... if by chance you get to experience it, you'd probably want to brag and be the envy of everyone around you.
