In the garden God gave man authority, dominion over all living things on the earth. When man fell, satan assumed that role, but on what authority? Example, when the police have a stand off with a criminal, and that criminal takes hostages. Do the police lose authority? In this democracy we have, did we the people lose our authority to big government, or are we afraid to claim what is rightfully ours? We still have that authority God has given us, if not , why can a pagan witch doctor heal? Because he accepts what has been given to him, even though he knows not where it came from.

No matter whether you think he was the son of God, just some prophet, or just some guy, you cannot argue his significance in history. He is clearly one of the most popular (popular meaning well known) people in history, if not the most popular.

That being said, how do you explain him having such a profound influence on thousands of years of history if he is not who the Bible claims he is?

I know that Osama Bin Laden, in his letter to the American people, called for all American to turn to Islam. What effect would it have on our current American culture? What changes do you think would come about?

This is only a theory . after the death of Christ , the Romans rewrote the Scriptures designing it to suit their needs . They censored the parts that were not appropriate to the message that they were trying to convey . For example , where is the book of Thomas . It was not appropriate to the content so it was disregarded .
The Roman Catholics like many empires before and after , inflicted cultural genocide across the known world , In the name of the Father the Son , and the Holy ghost . After the death of Christ , men have distorted the truth , and thrown it in a waist paper basket .
The European empires did the same .
there is no true religion , Only what men want us to believe to reach a means to an end .
Christianity was obsolete before it began . it is wrong to associate Christians to Christ , they are not one in the same .
Men control society religion is a tool

for those of you who believe in religion.
christianity (for this purpose) includes, catholics, protestants, baptists, and any other denomination under christianity (anyone who believes in the christian god, in other words).

please dont answer with "this is a stupid question, i know my god exists", or "christianity, there is no other religion", or any other answer that tries to avoid the question.

in other words, you will have to chooose another religion like buddhism, or wicca, or paganism, etc. i guess you can choose not to answer, which would be just as well in any case :)

thanks for playing!

I used to think there wasn't but then why is this in
Genesis 3:24
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

This is right after eve was made for adam.

What do you think?

If life starts at conception, as the prolife movement states, then fertility clinics are probably the site of more "killing" than abortion clinics.

if you're not aware, a much larger number of embryos are fertilized than a couple can use in these clinics because of the high probability that they won't survive. And the leftovers are discarded. Even those "moral" people who refuse to have them discarded pay to keep their leftovers frozen forever... so even then the idea should be monstrous... keeping a "life" in suspended animation indefinitely (isn't death preferable to that anyway?)

to be blunt, one flush in a fertility clinic probably carries away a month's worth of appointments at an abortion clinic.

Why aren't fertility clinics protested against?

Have you ever thought about the words "Jesus Christ?"

When most people hear the words Jesus Christ, they think "Christ" is Jesus' last name. When reality we should say Jesus (the) Christ, because the word "Christ" accually means Messiah, the deliver of the jews.

Please leave input about the subject. Thank You!

My local Bishop, wrote a very nice homily about immigration. How the people who come to America are our brothers and sisters. We need to love them and welcome them in. Not hate them and kick them out. They are not able to recieve the basics of life that they need in their country so they come here.

Having stated all these things, especially without noting that, almost all of these statements were made by a Pope along with many others.

In one of Bush's speeches he replaced the word Jesus with America, and used it to convince people to go to war.

Why do people confuse what America does with Christianity, just because they claim to be christians?

The word "Earth" (meaning the planet earth) is only relevant to those who come from earth. This word was created by mankind.
No species, animal or alien knows this word or the concept of this word outside of the realms of mankind. Say "Earth" to your cat and see what he says.

So would it be fair to say the same about the word "God" ??

The word "God" (one of the meanings from dictionary is "a supreme being according to some particular conception") God is only relevant to those who believe in god. This word was created by mankind.
No species, animal or alien knows this word or the concept of this word outside of the realms of mankind. Say "god" to your cat and see what he says.

Is this right? man, i just dont know...

Serious question here-
Without quoting scripture, do you really wonder why and what experiences led these people to believe the bible not to be the source of truth available? Or, do you see them as just blasphemeres doing satan's work, or still think it is your responsibility to help them get saved?
Remember no scripture, just personal experience relating to the benefits of christianity, and how to use it in everday life.
(also with no mention of eternal life or damnation)
If you want to relate with these guys, it has to be in their language, right?

I'm Pro-Choice, I'm an agnostic, but I do feel life begins at the moment of Conception. I am pro-choice because its not Governments role.

But there can be a Pro-Life position that people who aren't religious have.

So, to those who say they don't like the religious for pushing their pro-life agenda, does that hold any merit any more? I don't think so, what are your views.

---
Different topic, Gay Marriage, I can't name on one hand the number of Atheists and Agnostics who are against Gay Marraige, so the limit of scope to my view is limited to the Abortion issue.

Discuss please, everyone@!
