What will American society be like if it turns to Islam?

I know that Osama Bin Laden, in his letter to the American people, called for all American to turn to Islam. What effect would it have on our current American culture? What changes do you think would come about?

its not possible for america to be a theocratic state , infact the american society is much more modern than the most western islamic state (turkey) I think its impossible for this to exist.

1) most people would declare themselves atheist as if you donot follow islam and beleive in its rules you have to turn into an aethist for example all gays and lesbians are automatically thrown out of islam as its against gods will. often they are prosecuted

2) theocratic state have very strong policies about tolerance and thier is a ' religious police' it has the power to lock young girls for thier life time if they are caught partying in saudi arabia, or even driving which is banned for women, I know it sounds stupid but I dont think this would be possible for american society to accept.

3) just like mormons islamic states then to have a strict code of conduct where the head of religion is far more powerfull than the civic representatives.

4) most muslims in western countries are extremely developed than their asian counterparts ,their girls enjoy more freedom & equality although not as much as thier western counterparts but if you go to pakistan and then meet some uk pakis you would realise the world of difference. I presume such a change in the thinking of the society would be detrimental to its health.

5) can you think of americans not working during a whole month well this is exactly what happens in ramadan when work hours are reduced to 2 hrs a day for the month. americans just arent religious enough to do this , they are realist who know that they have taxes to pay and a tough life to live , they dont have petro dollars like arabs to follow a relgion.

6) most sialmic countries are facing problems economic and political the ones with a lot of oil reserves like saudi arabia are quite right now but who knows when the oil runs out.

I mean just read the papers daily, Do you hear or read news about Islamic Countries like Saudi Arabia ? Brunei ?

The citizen is more Educated and Civilised instead of leading the current American life of debaucherry and sins.

It would be more two faced than it is now.

There would have to be great private beaches where the rich Muslim women could go to wear their bikinis; like they do now along the South Coast of the Mediterranean. Maybe that's where Osama is hiding?

They would have to murder everyone and re-populate the states. I would bet that there are more Buddhists in America than Muslims.

Women would not be able to vote (come to think of it, men probably won't either), women would not be able to drive, go to school, etc.

Those who missed worship could be considered apostate and be punished, tortured or killed.

Of course, the television, film and music industries would be radically transformed.

All you need to do is look at Afghanistan prior to our arrival to see what the brand of Islam that Osama, et al., would bring.

It would be similar, except there would be far fewer permiscuous people, alot less bikini ads, less drinking, less gamblng, alot more mosques, more breaks during work, less banks, more concensus, more married couples and less divorce cases. We would also have better realtions with Muslim countries.
