This is only a theory . after the death of Christ , the Romans rewrote the Scriptures designing it to suit their needs . They censored the parts that were not appropriate to the message that they were trying to convey . For example , where is the book of Thomas . It was not appropriate to the content so it was disregarded .
The Roman Catholics like many empires before and after , inflicted cultural genocide across the known world , In the name of the Father the Son , and the Holy ghost . After the death of Christ , men have distorted the truth , and thrown it in a waist paper basket .
The European empires did the same .

I'm no Christian, but I agree.

Religion was created to be a tool and a guideline for society out of human need to find purpose.

A couple of holes in your theory. maybe you can refine it based on my comments.

1- The Bible is a compliation of 66 books from 40 authors over the course of several thousand years. Even if the Romans were able to alter all of them, the Hebrews as a people had committed all of it to memory. The average Jew could recite verbatem, just about any passage you asked. So, the alteration would have to include the minds of the people.

2- When the Apostles were collecting the writings that became the New Testament, they used an exacting criteria. The author had to have spoken directly to Christ or spoken to a person who spoke directly to Christ. They then tested those writings in light of other Scripture, particularly the Old Testament. Anything that was not in sync was disregarded.

3- There are some 10,000 original manuscripts of the Bible, all almost identical. By contrast, there are only a handful of Homer's writings, a sprinkling of Cesear's "Gallic Wars", and a few surviving greek poets. In fact, there is more evidence for the historical natuer of the Bible than for any other ancient writing. This will have to be accounted for if your theory is to succeed.

4- When the Nw Testament was being written, there were still people alive who remembered Jesus and saw Him alive after His death. Since the Ressurection is the validation of Scripture, you will need to account for this as well.

5- With the exception of John, all the apostles were executed for their beliefs. Phycyatrists tell us that no one will willingly endure death for something they know to be a lie. Therefore, your theory needs to explain how so many would be so willing do die for their faith.

Fill in a few details around those and we'll see if you have a theory that could work.

Agree!
Maybe not about the Romans part (I suppose you were just making a point, it is not important who it was) but definitely with
"there is no true religion, Only what men want us to believe to reach a means to an end. Christianity was obsolete before it began. it is wrong to associate Christians to Christ, they are not one in the same. Men control society religion is a tool"

Once majority of population realises that, world will be a much better place...

Good point to start with. Most religions are a leap of faith and i think that if you believe in a god there is one, this is because the human mind is capable of creating a heaven type place after death. As for the distortion by man, this still happens today and not just with religion. It's mans destiny to destroy and other such nasty things and he needs to cover up for himself by masking the truth. The hidden books of the bible is a conspiracy theory which i believe in but cannot prove unfortunately. I cant think of any reason why people would hide stuff from us but im not a roman am I? lol

Well I think it started with Saul/Paul. I think your right about some things. Have you read the Bagdavada Gita, When Arjuna asks Krishna to reveal himself Krishna has to give arjuna a spiritual eye He could not see with pyhsical eyes. When God apeared to Moses he had to do it in the form of a burning bush, same idea. Man cannot comprehend the infinite. The teachings of Jesus have been subverted by man. Man is man. Man is not God. Men do control society and relgion,But there using bits and peices of Gods words, the bread that keeps the people coming back. Has it occured to you that this was Gods plan, YOU have read the Gospel of Thomas its available now in any bookstore. Have you considered Your freedom was a process of human rights that started with Jesus. Small steps. To open up the worlds spiritual Eye in a process. If it came all at once are heads would explode.
Dont throw the baby out with the bath water. Inspite of the imperfections of man the truths keeps shining through. Love your neighbor as yourself is truth. We need to keep hearing it. It keeps shining throught the lies and all the lies go away one by one But the truth stays and if we look at the state of the world and the average man, compared to the past we have incredidble freedom we can read we can buy the Gospel of thomas we can do it with pennacilan and a light bulb. The world is getting better.

The foundation of truth is still strong.....yes there is much out there that is distorted....but you are not correct to say that Christianity was obsolete before it began....there are many false prophets (people putting there own ideas into the mix) that has to be sorted through...part of being a Christian is daily studying and questioning.....this forum, posing questions and debates, can serve as a very powerful tool to better understand the true foundations of Christianity....it is also very powerful to point out what needs to be worked on and where many misconceptions are.....young and old Christians can have mis-guided good intentions....but when researched through history, archeology, etc. researchers confirm the Bible.....many have set out to disprove the Bible and come out strong advocates and Believers....(of course others have gone the other way also)...but the Bible when it is researched separate from emotions comes out strong in it's facts.

The Romans rewrote the bible to suit their needs? And what was their need they were trying to suit? You said after the death of Christ, men distorted the truth. Uhhh, what was the truth of Christ that was distorted?

The fact is that mankind (like you) had attempted to distort the truth of the message of Christ from the very beginning. The message is still the same and man is still trying to distort the message.

I think you miss a HUGE point... if things were changed to fit the desires of the Romans or whomever... why then are we not instructed in the Bible to honor them or any man?? And all the other so called "Gospels" are available for you to read. They dont agree with eachother let alone the Biblical Gospels, imagine all the "The Bible contradicts itself" arguments there would be if they were kept in, when we have the New Testement agreeing in every essential part and yet, people still SAY they don't.

This would be a valid theory ONLY if it was bring glory and honor towards humans.

Christianity is proved to be true by every person whose life has been transformed by The Holy Spirit,. The sick are healed, the captives to addictions set free.

There is a power in Christianity, and it is real. It cannot be denied. See it for yourself.

At this very moment a child lies in a hospital dying of Cancer. That child decided for himself to be baptised and is excited about going to Jesus. Death has no sting, no victory for him. The child is testifying his faith to his family and those around. How could this be if Christianity was obsolete?

An elderly man was told he was dying of Pancreatic cancer. The doctors said they could do nothing about it except give him pain killers. His skin was yellow, caused by the poisons in his system. The church was saying prayers for him. He felt better, got up, did some shopping and went to visit the congregation in the church community house. They got the shock of their lives! His skin was back to normal, the doctors said he was clear of cancer. This was about 8 years ago. He is preparing to join his family in Ireland. He walks everywhere he can. That is the power of The Holy Spirit, of faith and prayer. That is Christianity.

I disagree. The men of the Bible wrote as they were inspired by God, but the Books of the Bible were gathered by the Canons. Christianity was not obsolete before it began, nor is it now. And it is not wrong to associate Christians to Christ. Christian means belonging to Christ. Of which I am proud to be. They are one and the same. Men do not control society religion. We are free to worship as we choose.
