My local Bishop, wrote a very nice homily about immigration. How the people who come to America are our brothers and sisters. We need to love them and welcome them in. Not hate them and kick them out. They are not able to recieve the basics of life that they need in their country so they come here.
Having stated all these things, especially without noting that, almost all of these statements were made by a Pope along with many others.
In one of Bush's speeches he replaced the word Jesus with America, and used it to convince people to go to war.
Why do people confuse what America does with Christianity, just because they claim to be christians?

I guess to sum it up, my question was, just because someone says they are a Christian doesn't mean they are.
To the person who said I have no right to judge, I absolutely have the right to weed out the hypocrites and decietful people. If you want to see a true Christian, you will know them by their fruits.
Everytime I ask/answer a christian question people think just because a republican supports it they put that on all christians.

It's really not for you to judge who's a true Christian and who's not. You might disagree with someone's political standing, but that doesn't have very much to do with their personal relationship with God, does it? I'm pretty sure He's the only one who knows who the true Christians are.

The country was not established as a Christian state and was not a church state such as the European countries that had a state sponcered religion so that part was true and at the time of the Treaty of Tripoli the word religion ment what we call a denomination in todays voculabary. I would like to point out to you that article 7 of the US Constitution says this Constitution is ratafied .......... in the Year of our Lord... Could you explain why our Liberal, God hating, Athiest, Socialist, Marxist founding fathers allowed this obviously God recognizing document to be printed as an official Constitution. The founding fathers also failed to properly enforce the Constitution when every State Constitution they ratified sought the favor of God and some states had official state churches. These same founding fathers would be impeached today if they allowed anyone to even mention God in their Constitution. Our Liberal judges and government controled schools have carefully rewritten our history to create an athiestic socialist state, of the state, by the state, and for the state. Only the Treaty of Tripoli which was written to be palatable to a Moslem warlord or Caliph of Libia is used to prove America is to be an athiest state but thousands of other documents were ignored because like the science of evolution only evidence that is compatable with the desired conclusion is accepted. You are a good student because you have learned the lies you were taught but as you enter the real world the lies you have been taught will not stand under the light of truth. I wish you well but from now on be careful who you believe.

People confuse America with Christianity because the majority of Americans ARE Christian.

The problem is that even the Christians cannot agree on who is a true Christian. In fighting between the sects does not enhance their credibility. You have your own definition of who and who is not a Christian. Others may exclude you from their definitions. Maybe it would be a good idea to sort out your own house before preaching to others.

They aren't real Christian's. Bush is a wolf in sheep's clothing. He gets Satan's dirty work done for him. America is sadly the most corrupt, pagan country there is. Except for a handful of True Christians, Most American Christians will believe just about anything they are told.

Tell your bishop , if he wants to help people to go to their country. Not to break the law and oppress the American tax payers. There is no free lunch. Someone is paying for the schools, hospitals, charity, jobs. It's the American tax payer and we're mad as h-ll and were not going to take it anymore.
